Happy to hear the damage was not permanent. When I read stories like this it enrages me to no end.

Someone keyed my '98 TA 5 years ago. Sure insurance paid for it with no deductible. But the repaint never looked the same, and never looked as good, so to me the damage was permanent. Blue Green Chameleon is extremely hard to match and few painters here can do it.

I like Singapore's approach to vandals. Four months in the slammer (not a country club) so they can think about their upcoming caning. I think the punishment is totally appropriate for the thousands of dollars in damage caused by the punk who spray painted several cars!

Its good to hear there wasn't any permanent damage. I've been lucky (and careful) so far but I'd hate to have anything happen to something I take such good care of.

I remember a few years back thinking how funny it was watching some of my friends wrap another mate's car up in newspaper. Now I'm a bit wiser I don't think I'd even consider a prank like that to be harmless.

RamAir, maybe put the vandals in a car wash for community service? Of course then you'd need the supervisor to make sure they're actually doing a good job so they understand how hard it is.

        ****SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT****

Losing your temper may have meant losing your LIFE!

You simply don't know what is on someone's mind and what they may have in their "personal stash" of weapons(what's in their pockets)! It's a car. Be a good witness. Get a description if you can of the person, their car and what direction they went. It's simply not worth the chance these days. I pay insurance for that peace of mind.

          Sorry to hear.

Sounds like the time I came out to my car and found spit on the rear window.

Yep folks, some folks can really hit a nerve. I have had worse done to my vehicles (eggs) and expect to have it again.

This was bad timing for me as I have recently been putting myself through alot of various practice with the Rotary and the PC and #83, #80, #82 & #9. I did not have any wax on the finish so I was in a rush to get some water on it. It looked like coffee or soda but to be honest. Once I saw a colored liquid on my white truck I knew I had better do something fast. I figured if it was coffee, as my paint was exposed, it "could" seriously stain it.

Alls good though. I just got finished using #9 with the PC on the horizontals and then QDed with FI. Looks sharp with no signs of stains.

Kind of nice having folks in here we can vent to that understand. Kind of awkward venting to your neighbor about this kind of stuff when moments before his kid was sitting on his car hood.

I agree and would normally do the same. But had I seen them actually commit the offense, considering all the effort I have put in to this finish lately, I really can't say I could have maintained.

Sorry to here about your incident but my least couple of weeks have not been great either, van was hit in the parking lot at Superfresh. Of course the person did not stay around and no one saw a thing, $1642.00 estimate. The next day the wife was pulling into the garage and scraped the door frame, $364.00 repair estimate. Can't wait to see if we get our class !

                Oh well, stuff happens !
Oh, and I am complaining about coffee.

Sorry to hear about all that.

I am sorry to hear about that. Kids these days (although I still am....untill tomorrow) have no respect for other peoples propertie. I am glad nothing bad came out of the incident. They will get whats coming to them, dont worry.

LOL. Reminds me of the time I was talking to my older sister and she leaned up against her car (it has terrible swirlies from the previous owner...I haven't had the time to do something about them) and I said "Don't lean up against that, it will get swirls!" (I do her detailing). She thought it was hilarious and I felt kind of moronic telling her not to lean against her own car...lol
