Re: the folks at simple green are funny

depending on the vehicle, i would say meguiars first. although has anyone tried SG extreme for its anti corrosion properties, whilst also being a cleaner degreaser in one. or for the exterior of car i use the Simple Green MAX Metal. this stuff is awesome. seriously, one step cleaner and polish that actually works. safe on ali chrome and stainless. havent got plastic on exterior of my car... not a fan of plastic in general my cars practically a steel beast. :P

i have also used SG's car wash - its actually quite good and smells like bubble gum. its not the best, and SG dont have a wax or anything to follow up with (as far as i know) but at least your can wash your car on the grass no worries XP

      LoL.
It's super mild compared to sulphuric acid, H2SO4 is ~2.1pH IIRC. Acids are below 7, bases are above. Apples and oranges, polar and non polar, acids and bases.

      Just sayin.

        Holy thread bumb!! LOL j/k.

I use SG alot and so far I haven't had much of a problem with it. Just do test spots and proper dilutions to what you need cleaned.

I don't like the smell of Simple Green. Neither does my mom's little dog. Makes him sneeze.

That's why they tell you that you should dilute it to a minimum of 1:1, up to 10:1; even for heavy duty cleaning. SG shouldn't be used full strength. Do you use Meguair's APC undiluted, or at "full strength?"

I have used SG many, many times and then some. I have gone through gallons of the stuff (the concentrate used to make the cleaner) and not once has it ruined or stained anything of mine that it has touched, including using it on the inside, outside and the engine bays of all of my cars. I have used it in conjunction with car wash soap before to help remove the oxidation off of my truck. Paint is still there. I have used it to clean bare aluminum wheels. They are still fine years later. I have used it to clean plastic trim. Still fine. You can't blame the product, Meguiar's or not, when the "user" is not following the directions...

Well said, Tyler. I, too, have used it on many surfaces over the years. The only thing I've noticed is that if you use it full strength on tires, they'll turn brown. Other than that, all is good. Just use common sense. Although, common sense isn't all that common.

I once used Bart Simpson cola to get oil off my driveway and it did a fantastic job.(Discovered by accident).

I don't think this cola is available anymore.I don't even know who made it? Gunk? It was real cheap cola...but the taste wasn't bad.

I use SG on wheelwells and engine plastic and havent encountered any problems except when it appeared to be eating away the undercoating on a toyota.... little black flakes on the driveway =
