yes I am refering to the multiple entries of the same car, the one that really stands out is the red saleen that was mentioned above, I had noticed a couple of other cars that looked like they were the same but just a different pic, so its hard to tell. I am just wondering if there is anyone monotoring this????

Hello. I'm a long time viewer and even longer time consumer of Meguiars products. When I saw this contest, I knew I didn't stand much of a chance with an almost bone stock 06' Honda Si, but I know for a fact that my car is better than half the cars rated on the top 10. Right now, the same Saleen has three of the top ten spots in the rankings. I don't remember reading anywhere that multiple entries were even allowed(I'm glad to see that you're trying to address this issue.

I just wanted to express my sorrow for Meguiars and the piss poor job that the company they decided to go with is representing them. It must reflect poorly upon your company to some degree, and I hope that they get what's coming to them. Nevertheless, I still love your products and nothing else touches my baby's skin. Best of luck with the competition, and I hope that you can convince the company to start taking better care of the competition to make it appear somewhat legitimate.

"Piss poor" is a little harsh to describe the work of the devs who made the site. My main gripe is that it is difficult to find where you need to login. It is not clearly placed on the site. Just thought I'd point that out.

Since the top ten places were all held by the the SAME CAR, the persons responsible for writing the rules and/or putting up the website did less than a piss poor job.

I thought I was scrolling through the entries....Turns out I was voting on a 1 -10 scale????

I'll bet the same people are responsible for the amped and Car Crazy Central sites.

Seems to me the Saleen owner can be disqualified from this part of the Official Rules.

YOU MUST BE THE PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE PHOTOGRAPH.

Since all the pictures are the same or cropped a little differently, its obvious each family member submitting didn't take the photograph.

Still that reflects pretty poorly on the type of person who enters this contests, that is they will at all costs bend the rules in their favor, instead of playing fair.

As for the website navigation, it's not horrific, but thanks to STG's post, I managed to read the site a little more and discover that 1-10 is a rating scale--which could have been improved with a small graphic above the 1, that said--RATE ME or similar.

Amped Up

Hello all. My name is Mike, and I helped to design and program the NXT AmpedUp Contest. I'm a long-time car guy,...I've been wrenching since I was seven or eight and to this day do all of my own vehicle repair and maintenance (with the exception of driveline internals,...I leave that to the pros.) I was born as a fan of the General, and I still remember the first time I saw a Corvette (it was a red '63 coupe that will be forever burned into my memory). I also have a big soft spot for the 4x4
community,...I stuffed a very warmed up 350 into a CJ-5 when I was 20 and stuck 33" x 12.5"s underneath.

I've been reading this thread and look forward to answering your questions and getting feedback about how we can make this program even better. We are currently addressing the duplicate entry issue and then we'll open this up to a Q&A.

The intention of the program was for enthusiasts to post a picture of
their amped up ride but not post multiple pictures of the same car. We
haven't built in an automatic rejection to multiple submissions by the
same person, because if an enthusiast has more than one car, it is fair
to submit each one. (For example, if you have a Honda, a BMW, and a
Corvette, you can post all three in the competition). However, it is
not acceptable to post multiple pictures of the same car to try to
improve your chances to win. Posting multiple pictures of the same car
actually is a negative in the end as Barry Meguiar would not choose a
winner that has multiple pics entered - he would consider it
unsportsmanlike. We have since contacted the entrants who did so to
remove their extra postings. This has all been completed, and the Top
10 has been refreshed to reflect this. Moving forward, we will monitor
postings and remove duplicate postings of the same car before they make
it to the Leader Board. The Leader Board will be refreshed every 24
hours (instead of instantly) so that we can more closely monitor the
competition. Thanks for all your feedback...Know that we are doing our
best to keep this competition fair and exciting! Thanks for your

thanks guys for answering our questions, I have a couple more...

my friends were trying to vote and they noticed that some cars come up a lot where some hardly at all, that they had been trying to find mine for a while and never came across it, Ive been trying for 45 minutes and still havent seen it once, but I have seen the same PT cruiser at least 20 times, I know there are a lot of cars entered and that it will take some time to go through every single car but how random is this generator?

second, is there anything in place to level the playing field for those that enter the contest 2 days before it ends and get a small amount of votes from them and their friends only setting their average high? I noticed that the first day or two of entry pretty much places you on the top 10 because you dont have a lot of votes to balance it out.

just wondering, not trying to whine about it, I was more just curious about the second question, but I would like for my friends to be able to vote for my car
