I have lost interest in my own car in this running, seeing there are much finer/exotic cars in the contest. But I must complain that I strongly feel that the owner of the 1997 GMC Sierra Z71 "Stylin Edition" has stuffed the ballot box. I really hate to rip on someone else's ride, but I see nothing special about it enough to keep it in the #1 or #2 slot/standing. Just curious if theres any investigation into this.
Proud owner of the finest looking car in the parking lot.
Switch to Linux. Use energy efficient lightbulbs and appliances. Keep your car well maintained and drive easy to save gas. Eat less fast food. Call your mother and tell her you love her. Try flying a kite. Read a wikipedia article daily. Use Meguiar's.

I agree....I would normally not say anything directly to another person or about hsi ride, but there are WAY many better cars than his. Including yours. It's the same reason I dropped out.

I'll send the link to this thread with your concerns to the people in charge of this as it's really out of my scope of responsibilities...

          Thanks for the feedback however...

            Hi Jim,

Except for posting an announcement and creating this thread, I'm not involved with this program so I don't have any answers for your questions but I have asked for some help from the people overseeing this.

I figured out the info part, I had to edit it a lot I guess I kept going over 1 or 2 characters and it was a pain to get it to say anything close to what I wanted it to and still make sense, thanks.

if I could get the pic fixed that would be awesome if not no worries

Here are the answers to several more questions...

The entry must be received as follows (its in the rules) Your photograph must be received no later than 11:59:59 pm PT, December 31, 2006. Potential finalists will be notified by phone and/or email on or about 1/5/07. If potential winner cannot be reached within three (3) days from the first notification attempt, then such person shall be disqualified and the next highest Entry will be selected as a finalist.

Here's the rules for judging (also in rules) At the conclusion of the posting and voting period, Sponsor will tally the votes of all visitors to the site and the twenty-five (25) entries receiving the greatest number of votes will become finalists in the Contest. Those twenty-five entries will be judged by Meguiar’s employees to reduce the twenty-five finalist to the top five. Barry Meguiar, Chief Executive Officer of Meguiar’s, will select the one Grand Prize Winner from these five who will receive a $5,000 cash payment to further enhance their “ride”, and an opportunity to showcase their vehicle at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, NV on 10/29/07–11/1/07. Mr. Meguiar will also rank the remaining four (4) entries in the event an alternate winner is needed. The criteria applied in the final judging will be one-third for condition of paint & finish, one-third for the shine and one-third for eye/curb appeal. Finalists will be required to submit a high-resolution file or an original negative, print or slide for the final judging. Original photographs will be returned to these finalists.

To address the accusations of ballot stuffing - not possible.

Votes are delayed 24 hours so that a reviewing committee can weed out any unsportsman like conduct. Here's what the screen shot shows you: See lower left hand corner where it says "Vote counts are delayed 24 hours so that they can be verified". I won't get into how the reviewing is done (because that is proprietary info) but it is happening. Some of the folks that are getting pumped up (and some might think they don’t deserve to be) might be inviting a bunch of people vote on their ride. As we have more cars in the competition, the ability for one person to pump up a score through an invitation "campaign" will diminish anyhow, it’s the law of averages. But there are things in place to keep that unfair stuff from occurring, and they are in place now.

is it allowed? if not will these people be removed or just factored down to just one of their entries?

Mike.. Im curious about this too. Id like to enter my car (picture) on the website but from reading the initial post here my thoughts are that you have to have a winning game piece? Or is it two seperate chances? Via game piece AND a chance can be had via entering your cars picture. If its just game pieces all start lookin around for the packaging... I need some NXT items anyways.

Before I start running around like a German kid looking for a golden wrapper in a candy bar could we get some clarification.

                            Thanks Mike!

                              Do you mean,

Can one person enter more than one car? for example say a person has a Mustang and a Corvette, are you asking can they enter both cars?
