How many of you guys wash your cars or trucks right after its rained. My neighbor thought I was nuts washing my truck even though it just stopped raining. My comment to him was yeah it rained alllll weekend. and now its not and Im not driving anymore till tommorrow and I dont want that road grime drying on my black paint. I dont care about rain but I do care about rain with dirt drying on my paint.

I have done the same, sometimes even just before a rain then I pull in the garage(your truck looks a little large for a garage). If you know you are not going to drive until it dries up, do it!

I get those comments all the time from my neighbors, especially when I wash just before it rains! Then again, the only car I wash just before a rain is the one that never goes out in the rain, so it makes sense.

Well, it makes sense to me anyway. To my neighbors, not so much.

Usually I only wash after a rain. Thats the only time it needs it unless something wierd happens. I Dust/QD almost daily and as long it remains dry it does not need to be washed very often. Every once in a while we get high winds which can blow all sorts of nice shiny littl grit particles on the surface so then it also time for a wash. I don't trust severe dust/grit to the duster.

But as far as when I wash. I wait till after a rain then also wait longer to try to make sure the roads are dry and all the puddles are just about gone. Once that happens, it's wash time. But only if the forecast looks good for the next few days. If it rains one day. looks good for the next but is forecasted to rain the day after, all bets are off. I don;t wash, QD or anything. I might knock out some interior work but I leave the exterior alone. I figure it's got too much grime for a routine QD and there is no sense in washing it if I am going to have to do it again in a couple days.
