  • Car Crazy nut strikes fear in local AutoZone Employee

I had something funny happen this evening and had to share it.

I was sitting in my truck at the local Sheetz today having a Cigar and coffee. My Ex-Wife pulled up and said she had been pulled over by the police for a brake light out. I pulled the light, saw a bad bulb and since we were next door to the local AutoZone, told her to pull over there and run in and buy a set of replacement bulbs. She proceeded to do so and I just pulled my truck over there and parked next to her car.

Anyway, when she went in to buy the bulbs, evidently the guy behind the counter offered to come out and assist. OK great. So while he is pulling one light out and replacing I am doing the other. Meanwhile I had sat my coffee cup up on the rim of the bed of my Truck whick is parked next to the wife's car.

The guy had seen me put my coffee cup up there and got nervous. I guess he did not see me drive up. I have seen the guy a few times but did not really know him. I had a hooded sweatshirt on with the hood up and had sunglasses on so he did not recognize who I was.

Anyway the guy goes over to my truck and politely removes the coffee cup and proceeds to tell me that he knows the guy who owns that truck, and that he keeps it spotless and if he comes out and sees that I have sat my coffee cup up there he will likely have serious issues with it and chew all of us out.

I kind of got a kick out of this as he did not recognize me nor associate me as the driver of this truck. My Ex was standing there and kind of realized what was going on and just knew I was going to take advantage of the situation and do something stupid. So I did, I put my head up nice and high and said "to heck with that guy" (referring to the supposed owner of the truck) I jumped in the truck and drove off. Moments later my Ex called me on the Cell Phone to let me know the guy went running back into the store yelling trying to find the owner of the white truck that had just been stolen.

She was laughing so hard she had to pull back into the Sheetz to use the restroom.

The opportunity was just too good for me to pass up. Would have been something if I had gotten a mile or 2 down the road and got pulled over by the police for having stolen my own truck.

                    Hahahaha

If the guy at the local AutoZone knows you that well, you may have a problem

                    I think there's a 5 step program for that...

Sheetz is like a Wa-Wa, Dash-In etc. Convenience Store, Gas Station, Sandwich shop all rolled into one.

I went back today to look for some NXT Insane Shine. He wasn;t there but I told the Manager about it, who knows me well. He said he had aready heard about it but knew the guy was talking about me so he just let the guy keep thinking he witnessed a vehicle theft. :-)

I staightened him out if I see him again. He seemed like a nice guy and will likely get a kick out of it.
