  • Don Knotts Dies

Just found out about myself. He died of respiratory problems in a CA hospital.

He will be sorely missed by me and many others.

I went out and rented, The Apple Dumpling Gang, to watch with my son. Actually, Don Knotts movies are some of my favorite, such as,

      How to Frame a Figg
The Shakiest Gun in the West
      The Reluctant Astronaut
      The Ghost and Mr. Chicken
      The Incredible Mr. Limpet
      The Love God?

Just to name a few of his best movies... Barny Fife is how we'll always remember him however...

      Deputy Barney Fife

      Mr. Furley from Three's Company

Sad day... I really like Don Knotts character profiles, they were so good for the niche roles they were...

I liked his earliest roles the best, but he was always good for a laugh...

You never had to worry about taking the entire family to a Don Knotts movie. Entertaining for everyone and safe for the kiddies.

He was still working. In 2005 he did the voice of Mayor Turkey Lurkey in Chicken Little. He did a lot of voice over work in his later years.

I have the movie "The Incredible Mr. Limpet", which featured Don Knotts.

Been a long time since I saw some of his movies from the late 1960's...I'll have to pick those up sometime soon.

Don also appeared briefly in the movie "Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World"....I have that on video tape.

I like to watch that movie just to see the old cars and filling stations from the early 1960's era.

Edit: Oops.....I see that Mike already posted the link to The Incredible Mr. Limpet.
