I guess i should admit it. Come out of the closet so to speak. I'm a switcher. I left all the pain of viruses, adware , constant antivurus and security patches behind me about two years ago. I now have two Macs. I am very pleased with my choice. I spent years in the IT world and the last five I was supporting a lot of designers. I got to know and love the Mac OSX. Now that I'm up to speed on Macs, I believe I made a good choice. They are not, in fact, more expensive these days. That is a myth, IMO. I went from tolerating my PC to loving the elegance of my Mac. I think I finally understand why Mac users are so strong in their stance on the Mac. I'm not yet a bigot but I would not want to go back to the Windows world. YMMV.

Here's a link to a good computer site - fully upgradable computers. I want one of those ALX series. It's like driving V12 engine - never have lack of power/performance problem.

If you never want a lack of performance, you could always get a clustered dual core. Sure, no mainstream program uses it, but its great when you want to compare the aerodynamics of your car pre- and post- detail!

We have them at uni - I tried to use the same program at home and it took about five times longer. I think I'm officially spoilt now.

I'm now leaning to build my own machine. Is this a good price?

AMD Sempron 3100 in mini tower/ has all the USB-keyboard- etc.
              Seperate V-Card- GeForce 4m x 4000
              80GB HD CDRW
              1 GB RAM
              Windows XP
              All for 625.00- no moniter
This way I avoid all the "teaserware". I can then buy the full apps that I need.

              Thanks.

not bad but if your looking to build your own with out having to "build you own" you could take a look at tigerdirect they usually have good prices but shipping can be expensive for small items
