  • Retiring

    Guys,

Been posting on this site since start up. It sort of feels like home.

Today I announced my retirement. I've been an elementary school principal for 38 years. (Age 63) Now maybe I'll learn how to use the Makita 9227 that I purchased over a year ago.

By the way, I've been messin' with "detailing" for over 45 years. I'll retire from that when they take my pc (or rotary) from my "cold dead hands".

    Tom

                Hey Tom,

                Congrats!!!!

That's me in about 4 years. I'm planning to continue with detailing as a side job into retirement. It's motivation to keep in shape!

                    Thanks guys,

Some of the things that I'll be up to other that keeping my wife's white Tacoma, my black Dodge Hemi and my two black Harleys lookin' good include: long tours on my Harley Davidsons (Yes, Sturgis and Daytona are on the list.), a bunch of archery hunting - turkey, deer and antelope, boating in the Missouri Ozarks, working with my golden retriever pup, getting back into some serious upland game hunting, maintaining my forty acres of native Nebraska prairie, finishing off a shop in one of my garages and a lot of sittin' watchin' sunrises and sunsets with either a cup of good black coffee or a tall cold Pepsi (I don't do the other stuff any more.) With all this going on, I may have to trade off the black Hemi for a white one so that I can detail it faster. Maybe even switch over to just a cleaner/wax.

Even though I had a hip replacement two years ago and a piece of steel put in my ankle about a year and a half ago (I dropped one of my Harleys on it.), I am blest with good health and am in pretty good shape for being and "old guy". I'm looking forward to a few years of "endless summer vacation".

                    Tom

It's to bad, Tom, that you don't have any plans for your retirement. I've gotten a few more years ahead of me but I'm sure they'll pass quickly. Good luck in retirement and thanks for working with our kids.

I pulled the plug two years ago. I am now busier than ever but the difference is that now I am busy doing what "I" want to do.

Think I'll go wash the car and maybe go for a swim. It's 76° and sunny today. Maybe I'll have another beer too. I'll have to start the grill after that and plop a couple steaks on it. Retired life is very good. Enjoy!
