  • Not a Meguiars but interesting new product....

Turtle Wax Ice... There is a "synthetic car polish" and a "synthetic detailer".

The polish says nothing about adding protection so I would guess its just that a polish. The interesting part is that both products say they can be applied in the direct sun and to all exterior rubber, plastic and vinyl trim to restore color and shine without leaving white residue.

Anyway, Meguiars still for me please.

I checked a bottle earlier this week, it really looks like water, very liquid.

I plan to try it someday on my Tercel bumpers. I have yet to find the perfect product for these.

Saw this product today. Interesting. Seemed very watery. Claims to be a polish, wonder if people will think it will protect the paint.
These other companies need to educate the general public that there is a difference between polish and wax. Also saw the Smooth Surface Kit for the first time too!! Looks good. Still have some Quik Clay or would have got some. Still Meguiars for me except maybe the Powerball????? Will Meguiars come up with one??

It sure would be nice if the plethora of car care manufacturers would do like Meguiars and refer to their protective products as waxes or sealants and their paint prep products as cleaners and polishes. My understanding is the new TW product is intended to protect, despite the name. Another company also calls their sealant a polish and another's wax is referred to as a glaze.

        Ugh.

          It's just the market.

Every company will come out with a synthetic based product to compete with the other company. That's all it's about. You gotta keep up w the joneses so you follow the trend.

It's all good. It's healthy competition that drives the best companies to create the best products and marketing plans. Hence NXT is the best wax in the US.

I love marketing and how it works. have a good sunday everyone.

They use 'polish' and 'wax' interchangably. So the ICE Liquid Plish is a synthetic wax.

ICE's advantage is excellent trim friendliness, but Meguiars NXT liquid wax (mine is purchased in Jan 2006) is fairly trim friendly.

Some autopian's are going to test ICE againt NXT or Mothers FX.

NXT is still an interesting wax. I did a tortue test on stainless steel pot (I know stainless steel is different, but I did not want do such test on my car's paint): NXT kept its excellent water sheeting after spraying and wiping with dish wash detergent, 1:20 Simple Green, and some other chemicals in my kitchen. Other company's premium easy-to-use wax lost its water sheeting ability more quickly.

I think it says on the ICE bottle that it provides protection.

                ice *****

I tried it and since it said it worked in sunlight I tried it in the sun. Maybe it's because I have a black truck but it seemed to dry up almost immediately and was a bear to take off. Stick to your NXT guys
