As a side project, I've been making a few Meguiar's-based themes (basically skins) for my Sony Ericsson S710a (and any other Sony Ericsson phone). I was hoping to simply complete them and post them up here, but I've had the worst time finding decent quality pictures with good resolution of simple things like Meguiar's and Meguiar's products logos. I understand the copyright rules yada yada yada but I'm not hoping to make any money off this and I figure it would be free advertising for Meguiar's anyway. Here's a preview of my mirror-glaze theme. Some other one's I'm working on are a MOL theme and an NXT theme. If any of you know where to get images that I could use (without breaking any laws) let me know. Also, if you have any input or experience with these kinds of things that'd be great as well. Suggestions for new themes or skins ideas would also be great. A theme doesn't just change your wallpaper, it changes all of your backgrounds for your menus, buttons, contextual menus, etc. You can even clip a ringtone to it, but I'm not sure what a Meguiar's ringtone would be. Maybe an audio clip of one of Barry's movies lol.......
As a side note, don't worry about the "operator logo" covering up the Meguiar's logo, on Cingular phones their logo doesn't go exactly there so you would see it.
I can also make these to work with Nokia phones, but it is MUCH more cumbersome and labor-intensive, so you'll have to ask VERY nicely (and be willing to be my guinea pig because I'm not very good at it and don't have a Nokia to tinker around with to do it)
When I'm finished there will be several ways to get these themes from the web to your phone. One is through your computer if you have a cable or bluetooth phone (unless you have a verizon phone...the sleazy jerks disabled any file movement abilities to try to sell more content) and comp. The other is to use a service like mobupload or zedge uploader. Finally, it can be done using an SMS message if you have neither a cable or phone internet access, but that method is almost never free (to send or receive).
