Website questions.....

I have enabled that I would like to be emailed when someone replies to a thread that I am subscribed to. I also have setup that I would like to be emailed when I receive a private message.

Neither happens. Does the server email you when you get a PM, or a reply to a thread?? I have been posting since august with around 200 posts, 10 PM's.

I don't get them either. The only time I did was when the site was "broken" for a short time for a few days. I got them then.

When the site upgrades or whatever they did were completed I stopped getting them.

I have clicked and set every option in the USER CP in an attempt to get them but don't.

Site is also very very slow lately. Im not complaining, just making an observation

Hmm I get email notices for everything. More than I want sometimes.

I'll have a look at my setting and see if I can see anything I think you guys may have missed.

There is a setting in here somewhere that enables the option of letting you automatically subscribe to any thread you participate in.

For what it's worth, here are my Messaging & Notification selctions

User CP > Edit Options.

Messaging & Notification
Allow Bulletin Board Administrators and Moderators To Send You Email Notices?
yes

Hide Email Address?
no

Use 'Email Notification' by default?
yes

Enable Private Messaging?
yes

Send you an email when you receive a Private Message?
yes

Pop up a box when you receive a Private Message?
yes

You might try going to the bottom of the Edit Options screen and clicik Reset Fields.

Jeff, I have those same settings as you in userCP, except for the "show email address" I have that one ticked to "NO".

I set up a Gmail Account and this problem went away.

Apparently so. I get all my notification, so I don't know why other's don't.

I noticed the site was very slow today also, it just about kills me as I'm usually multi-tasking to the hilt and waiting for what seems like eternity for a page to load so I can type an answer, takes it's toll in productivity throughout the entire day.

We are planning on upgrading to some new software and moving our site to a new location after the first of the year, hopefully the move with be smooth and we can all get back into the groove...
