I am even happier then! I had no idea what it should cost. I just found somebody I liked and ordered it.

They wanted $125 up front and $125 when it is done.

Why not have a license plate cover made with your logo on it? Put it over the plates, snap the pics and you've made it harder for people to steal your pics, plus you don't have your customer's plates floating all over the web.

        Win win.

I used to have one. I left it on a car once and lost it when my customer drove home. I have another in my garage.

I don't care if people want to steal the pics. Some one with that character will not last in a business of his own.

Also, what harm can a plate number be on the internet?

Nobody has ever explained that to me.

Do you cover your plate while you drive down the street?

I'm not so sure its as important on Detailing sites as it is on Other car sites, in regard to covering the plates.

On some audio websites we make sure to black out plates because people have been known to use the pictures to find the house and the plate to pinpoint a car and steal whatever is in the car.

I know of a few people on mp3car.com that have had this happen to them.

Maybe to be on the safe side I should go back to covering them.

                Thank all for the compliments!

Even though I think that those that come to a detailer's website probably have a passion for their vehicles, I think there are many who look at their car and think, "What's wrong with my vehicle? I think it looks just fine." So, along those veins I would think about having a tab called "Why Detail?" or something. On that page, have some before-and-after's (also in your gallery!) or have a picture of a car that looks decent from a distance but do the tape-off and polish so people can really see what the difference is. If you can reach a few extra people that would go "oooooohhhhh, so THAT's what a detailer can do for me... niiiiiiiice!" And definitely hit them with that page before they can even get to a price page.

Something just so they see that those quicky full-service wash and "detail" places don't do their paint any justice at all. I watched one in a nearby town while I was at a stop light. There's "Larry" out there wiping down the car coming out of the wash with the same towel he just used on the last 4 cars, and there's "Bob" touching up a few spots on the paint with his rag he just used to wipe down the rims. [the names of the innocent have been changed to protect their identities]

I dunno - just a thought. I think I might have been one of those people that would have said "Meh - my truck looks good enough," until I started surfing and learning how to REALLY take care of my vehicles' paint. A lot of those before and after pictures just make me want to go out and polish my vehicles again. But, I have the space and time to do it so those who don't, go to someone like Joe.

                    Great site man!

I will second Mike's suggestion with putting a different picture of you - one with a professional look to it and one with you "in action" with either a more casual look or the same. The Meguiar's video shows the guys with their company logo shirts and khakis on through the whole thing. Plus their Meg's aprons. Think about getting a polo-type shirt with the cartoon car from your logo above with the business name underneath. White shirt, Black pants - classy.

One stop shopping with over 200 car on my site. Pretty easy for someone with a bit of know-how to do a search on those plates, find out who they are registered to and where they live. I'd just rather be safe than sorry.

Joe - I let my wife look at your site and she had a lot of nice things to say. Granted, she's tolerated me and my telling her why some things are important, but she had the following suggestions.

                        1) on the Services page - she was confused about what this statement meant...

"Bi-weekly service starts at $45. Our weekly or bi-weekly Mini-Detail service is always combined with a routine PMD We require a min. order of $120 per stop."

I guess it means that if you're signed up for the weekly service, you better find 2 other friends to make up the $120.

                        2) Also on the Services page - she thinks you should have the pricing right up front and add a statement like "Why not the local Quicky-Wash?" Then outline why your service is worth so much more than what they can get elsewhere. Add a statement directing the reader to the lower sections for more detailed information.

                        Just thought I'd share...

                          Detalnewb,

                          Thank you for the feedback.

The $120 is the min. we charge per stop. So a mini detail performed every two weeks will cost you $45 each time but like you stated you need to have have a couple of friends (co-workers) around to make the stop a $120+

Our mini-detail service is most popular at office buildings where we usually have 5 or more vehicles.

I don't post prices because I don't want anybody choosing us based solely on price.

What is posted as far as cost is to weed out the people that will not pay at least our starting prices.

                          Again thank you.

Don't want you to think I was criticizing the pricing - I think it's only fair for a mobile service. If I were closer, I'd have you do mine! Your work looks great!

                                Joe,

Your site looks really really great!
As said, its really fast and simple!

The only thing I was wondering about is "How long does it take before I can use my car again? "

How much time does it take for the different services? I know every car is different.... but can you say anything about it on the website?

I don't know how people think of this overseas but I probably want to know.
And, again... this may be different overseas.... but here it's more usual to bring in your car to be detailed.... is this possible also? Or is it mobile detailing only?

Hope you can do something with this.......
