I saw a thread on a forum that lists great deals that claimed you could save money easily on your Comcast cable internet bill. I assume it can be used if you have another provider, as long as your provider has a direct competitor who is cheaper than them.
A long list of people responded to the thread stating it worked for them, as well. What they did was call Comcast inquiring about disconnecting their cable internet service because they were switching to the competitor. Have the competitor's price handy and mention that you simply can't afford to NOT switch. Many of the operators, including mine, quickly suggested to me that I stay and they change my price to the price the competitor is offering.
It sounds simple, but it does work and brought my bill from $49.99 a month to $29.99 a month for 6 months. Not too bad -- and there is no contract. I can still disconnect at any time.
It makes sense, as well, when looking from the provider's standpoint. I really was looking to switch earlier in the year, but decided it was too much of a hassle. Regardless, Comcast would rather keep you at $30 rather than lose you as a customer altogether.
