I finally got the dealership to work a deal that I liked. After 3 tries on various used cars I bought new. They had a 5 speed Fusion on the lot that just arrived last week so it wasn't hacked up by snow brooms/wash brushes yet. I had my eye on it since it got there and figured if I didn't buy it now it would be trashed by the end of winter. I was ready to plop down $40k on a BMW but after driving this, it was so much like the BMW I couldn't spend twice as much. This car is that good. Interior isn't as nice, but it's not filled with cheap plastic. It's filled with padded vinyl and is VERY tight. It rides very similar to a late 90's BMW, firm but smooth. I wish it came with a 5 speed 6cyl, but coming from a truck it was quick enough. The shifts are great with no slop and the clutch has some wieght, which I like. The engine has a very nice sound to it also....not to mention 31mpg.
I'm picking it up Wed. because I won't drive it without a clear bra (there's salt ALL over
) and I have to swap stereos and detail it. Color is tugsten silver, which looks like silver with dark blue and purple pearl in it. It should look really nice all done up. Interior is black, which is a bit monotone but nothing an alluminium trim kit can't fix.
Pics will be up when I'm done detailing it. It's winter up here so it's going to be the only time it will be clean until about April.
Here's a pic for those who haven't seen one:
