  • Some of Meguiar's product seems to...

... somehow attract insects. I don't know why, but everytime I use something like DC#1 or Scratch X, they just land and pace around that specific area. Does this happen to anyone else, or is it just the insects in my area?
Is it because Meguiars are environmentally friendly and smells good?

That tends to happen a lot whenever I detail my truck, no matter what products I used. I really noticed it a lot when I was using Z***o. I think the bugs just like the smell and they like to look at themselves in the reflection

I have sometimes wondered if when a bug is flying over it catches a relection of the sun or a light at night and heads to it. Just like bugs attract to lights at night.

in the summer a friend of mine had just finished applying P21S to his silver A4( not the only silver car in his street) in the evening he had to go out,
when he got out to start the car up it was covered in flying ants and not just a few, a blanket of them.
His wifes green Ford KA had the same wax on but no ants, even though they were parked next to each other

Same happens with me. I wondered if it was the smell of the product.

To prevent irritating insects from landing or flying around my truck..I detail during the day in the shade..or early in the morning. When it's cold in the morning they're no where to be seen. During the day all I get is birds in my area..Scottsdale, AZ. Try to detail during low temperatures...but not too low. 60-70 degrees F

I have found that insects are extremely attracted to white paint wether its dirty or clean.
