    Hello,

I have several nice ETG - I (Industrial Model) paint thickness guages.

    [edited for commercial link;2hotford]

The units have the optional print mode which allows you to print thickness readings to show to your customers. The units look like NEW! Comes complete with software, and calibration materials, print cable (DB9). This unit retails for $589.00 new. Here's a chance to get one for half that. $250.00. I maybe listing on ebay soon. If you have any questions please ask.

    Regards,
    Jason

I am interested in one and have been on the lookout on ebay, but I am looking for a unit that does both Steel and Aluminum and haven't been to fast to shell out 600 bucks.

Do most newer cars have steel or aluminum body parts? Fenders, hood, trunk etc...

      Thanks,
      Tom

          Tom,

Most newer cars are steel, some hoods and trunks are fiberglass and of course lots of plastic.

          Regards,

A WHOLE LOT OF CARS HAVE ALUMINUM PANELS!!

This week we did a range rover and a BMW 645 that I could not get ETG reading off of. The panels were metal but not steel.

                  Hey Jason,
Can I ask why your getting rid of it? How old is the unit?
i e-mailed the company and asked what the differences were between the industrial and automotive models. They replied that the industrial model is intended for hard platings and not automotive finishs and they recommended to use the automotive model. Both have the same accuracy rating, so I don't uncerstand what is the difference between the two. Can you help with the difference?
Sorry about not getting back to you and about all the questions?

                  Thanks,

                  Chubs
