If there were any events here,I'd be there! I can assure you of that.

Meguiar's would really take off here if there was more selection and more advertising.There are plenty of motorsport events here from cities to villages all through the summer months.Italians are(car) crazy,but they don't know about your products!

I've actually had people with cars that cost 10 - 15 times the cost of mine,ask me about the finish on my car! I think that tells you something.

Hi RGCurtis,I'm in the tuscany area(thanks for asking).More to the point,though,these motorsport events are all over italy. As oppsed to dragging it's rallying..."More muck,more mud = More Meguiar's! There are thousands of people that go to these events all year round,mainly in the summer,I mean the stalls are packed.If there were Meguiar's stalls here,they would really kick off.

I would like to give an example of this.About six-seven years ago there were not many Japanese cars on the road here.Very,very few.But more to the point,they didn't advertise their product line very well either. A couple of years ago,I started to see ads for Honda,Toyota,Mazda and guess what,the amount of Japanese cars on the roads here have went up at least tenfold and still increasing.

As i've mentioned in the past,when people ask me about how do i get that show finish on my car,i tell them all about Meg's.But what encouragement do they have when they can't get it.I tried emailing two companies here.Havn't heard a reply yet.

I think the problem lies in the way Italy runs it's businesses.

I lived in Naples twice. Once as a kid for three years and once as an adult with my family for three years. My family and I loved it and miss it soooooooo much. I miss the Autostrada and being able to due 140km or faster to get somewhere. The food, cars, women, and culture are missed each day. As for your Meg's dilema, try www.autodetailingsolutions.net or google auto detailing solutions. Rick is really cool and might be able to help. Hi RGcurtis,I visited Naples with my family as a kid.Pompeii and mnt.vesuvius etc.It's a beautiful place and has clear blue water coastlines.Unfortunaley,there are a lot of speed traps on the autostrada's today.
Thank's for the link.I'm going to have to do something to get what i need.When i went to a local shop,they had 2 bottles of plastx,2 bottles of QD(i go through this stuff really quickly) and about 10 bottles of nxt tech protectant. I said to the shop assistant that these products need to be backed up with the essentials.It should be 10 bottles of QD and 2 of the other.

Hi Rg curtis,I had a quick look auotodetailing's site(briefly for now,i'm a bit pushed for time at the moment).They've certainly got a good line of products.Are they based in the states? Not a problem,i'm just thinking about shipping costs.I'll be back on line later.

also hi surly,I don't have a lock up.My car is outdoor 24/7. always has been in it's 15 year history.I would prefer a garage though.Funny though: At meguiar's.com i don't see meg's t-shirts or baseball caps? and yet in the italian site (that doesn't reply to you anyway) they show these things.Maybe i've just missed them at Meguiar's.com?

Just a quikie rg,coming home tonight at about half ten,an auotbus nearly took me out on a bend(country road).Half of the oncoming bus was on my side of the road!!!!????

You'll know what i'm talking about-----Italy! When in Rome......... it's not my philosophy!

LOL!!! Oh do I know what you are talking about. Are you sure you were not driving in Naples.....lol. Normally, the north had better drivers. If I get a chance I will call Rick at ADS for you and ask if he ships to Tuscany. Don't give up.....we will get you the product you need.

No problem. Will post what Rick says as soon as I can. I have a son in college that drives and '02 Mustang. My senior in high school drives an '01 Tacoma. My wife drives an '05 Maxima. I drive an '02 Silverado 1500 and I have a '78 Dodge Aspen. Good luck studying.

Quite a nice selection of cars you've got there!Do you do all the detailing or does your family do there bit to help out? I'll need to check out the '78 Aspen.I like Dodge,but i'm not familiar with that model.(I'll check google-images). Hopefully,you'll eventually get some pics uploaded.I will be doing so in the near future.Time........

Hi RG,I have seen the '78 Aspen before.Is it a sooper-coup or a family runner? Nice car from that period! I've seen recently here,imported,new Dodge Calibers. They're really nice. Are they popular in the states?,or are they intended for the eurpean market? (I think 2 or 2.5l turbo diesel?)

Okay, one question at a time...

1. I am in the Navy and work on Submarines.
2. The Aspen is the four door family model. My Great Grandmother bought it new and then she passed away and gave it to my Grandmother who passed away a year ago and gave it to me. It has 69k original miles and is all stock.
3. The Caliber is doing okay over here. Just we are so behind Italy with regards to fuel efficiency. Americans do not know how cheap gas is in the U.S. as opposed to Italy.
4. I do 90% of the detailing. They help out a lot. My older son ('02 Mustang) did a complete polish on it about a week ago. He used M105, M205 & NXT 2.0 waxed.

You know every time I chat with you I miss Italy sooooooooooooooooooo much. Have fun and eat some Penne Arabiata for me. - Ciao

Ciao RG,Ha-ha,nice reply.I'm glad to see you've kept the car in the family.I hope you eventually find time to upload some pics!

Firstly,about your sons Mustang(again,nice cars).I was at my cousins today and used his PC to go online.I came across your thread about tying to get the water stains out etc.Anyway it was a good bit of reading.How have you got on since?

Secondly,that's really interesting,working on boats.'How long does it take you to detail a submarine?' Just kiddin'.... Although,I see Meg's do a marine line of products!

Thirdly,I wanted to buy something 'Muscle Car' wise,but the fuel costs in europe make it a non practicality. I really love V8's,which is a big part of american culture,so I wouldn't like to see them go! Shelby Cobra is one of my fav's.You can actually build good replicas with the proper goods under the hood!It can be done for about 20,000$(If you do most of the work yourself).I mean a GOOD quality replica.i thought about this,but the petrol,and i don't have a garage.

Fourthly,I forgot to mention earlier from one of your threads---'Limoncello'. Really nice liqour.Can you get it in the states?(I reckon so).

Okay,this is a holiday weekend in Italy,as you probably know 'la festa della republicca' 6/2/1946 or 2/6/ if you prefer(if i remember well,in the states,you put the month first). Nothing is really open monday and tuesday,but i'm going to phone speedup.it and see what they have to say as regards to Meg's products. If you did get the chance to speak to Rik at ADS,there might be a couple of problems: 1) The G110 is made for the states and runs on 110v,hence the G220 is for europe, and runs on 220-230v).So ADS might only stock the G110. 2) He might not ship outside the US.I'll let you know how i get on this end,next week.

Lastly,another thing i forgot to mention earlier.i'm originaly from Glasgow,Scotland and i was a train driver(engineman) for near on 13 years.So my civic is originaly from Glasgow.I came here about 6 years ago. Although you miss Italy,I'm pretty sure you prefer living in the states.My cousins are from SanFrancisco(originally,long island).They lived in the britain for some years but ended up going back. I should've gone with them!
