Do you know what specific products from the Meguiar's lineup that these individuals use on their cars?

That is something we will not publish. We use that more for internal information once we receive the final list from the 3rd party who did the questioning.

Keep in mind, not everyone needs / uses the same product, so what might be good for a "Pebble" car, may not be good for someone else

While I can do no more than agree on you that every car is quite unique and there is no "works for all" solution, I'd be interested in such a list. Just out of curiosity.

Like whenever I see a detailed car here in Belgium and I compare it to the cars I've seen here on the forum, it seems that USA has somewhat "special" paints as they are always more shiny, more rich in colour, etc.

So from that perspective, a short list (for each vehicle with a photograph) would be a great resource, for fellow car owners, or just good reading material.

On the other hand, I understand that it's possible that some clients use products for other purposes than it was created and the Meguiars company has to "play safe" with what kind of information they publish.

So as a resume - sorry to hear that such a publication is possible, but understandable from the company point of view.

My apologies, Mike, I didn't mean to come across as trying to divulge company information. I was simply curious in knowing, if possible, what is popular on the show car circuit these days.

I only ask because I am having a 1958 Chevrolet Impala restored to pristine condition, and one day I plan on entering it into local shows with nothing but Meguiar's products to my credit. My plan of attack, so far, is #7 Show Car Glaze followed by either #26, #16, or even NXT...I simply cannot decide on my LSP for what should be a perfect black finish! Who knows, maybe I'll discover the method for the amateur show car enthusiast!

Thank you in advance for your understanding.

                        No worries at all

Keep in mind....In order to get that flawless "Show Car" perfect finish your looking for, most of it will be decided by the Paint & Body guy !!!

Once it is sanded and buffed, that will determine the finish you take over !!! (Keep in mind, our Magnum has approx. 125 hours of just sanding and polishing)

Hopefully, they will do a good job and deliver a finish you can add onto versus having to try and "fix".

As far as you choosing the products once you start working on it, I would simply play around, and determine what that paint likes, what you like, and simply stick to those

Keep us filled in on your progress !!!!!!!!!!

                          Class winners at Pebble Beach

I'm really looking forward to the class judging results at the Concours, Mike.

Will you be posting them to this thread?

I've been following this car in particular and would like to see how it did.

JSM, make sure the paint guy has state-of-the-art facilities and ALL Meguiar's products. Including, but not independently, Meguiar's Unigrit Sand paper-this is key.

I just wrapped up a disgustingly deep and flawless paint job on a computer case for a friend. Read this: I got paid $400 because the local body shop that 'screwed up' cost him $400. Do it once, do it right, get Meguiar's.
