  • Woodward Dream Cruise

Any fellow WDC cruisers out there? It's the world's largest one day car event! We've gone since 03 (the year of the great northeast black out-what an experiance that was), and plan on continuing to cruise one of the most famous roads in automotive history (MI rt 1). There are also awesome photo ops in the area, since so much automotive history happened here. But the best part is Saturday (third sat in august), the BIG PARTY. from 9 mile to 16 mile, 8 lanes of cars, trucks, anything with wheels. Last year we saw: the batmobile, the zippo car, a vw bug made entirely of wire (it looked like a doily), a spa truck, the fastforward fastback, a herse club, and so many classics and late models I can't even begain to list them all. I had taken pics for a local site, and within one hour of standing by the road, I took over 600 pics!! While we were there, we went to Fair lane, the Henry Ford, Belle Isle, the Model T factory, and various locations on Woodward Ave to take pics-there are some super backdrops there for car pics, that's for sure! We had planned on doing a vow renewal there, but being that we are in NY and the WDC is in MI, it got to difficult to plan and we gave up.

My dad lives in Shelby Twp. and I've missed the darn thing 3 years in a row, by 2 days at most, and on one occastion my flight out was on the same day! On Gratiot, right near twelve mile, there is dealership that sells nothing but restored, and survivor cars of the 50's-mid 70's era. If you get a chance you should check it out.
    I want 4" Softbuff pads!
