with removing light scratches on glossy plastic on the dash that is visible when light directly shines on it?

I bought a 2011 VW Tiguan recently and I have a question about interior detailing. Around the touchscreen audio there is glossy plastic trim (same is there around the climate control buttons) which has light and faint scratches on it (from day one, I did not cause them) which can be seen mostly when light shines directly on it (like sunlight). In diffuse light or dim conditions you can't see much. I tried to used Meguiars Scratch-X and it did not seem to help that noticeably. Susequently, I have used a bit of vaseline smeared (very lightly) and that helps, but also it gives a hazy oily look which I do not like.

Is there anything I can use to buff out the scratches?

Not sure about buffing out but might be able to apply a wax/sealant with slight filling abilities to hide them. It will dry and not be oily to the touch, make sure you tape off all surrounding areas and don't get any on textured surfaces or it will stain white. Don't get any on the touchscreen.

I am a novice in this area. Do you have any name for sucHwax/sealant with filler properties?

Well according to Mike Phillips' says in this post here, any wax or sealant that works fills to some degree. Now how well it does that depends on the product.

I would recommend either NXT 2.0 (sealant) in liquid form, Gold Class liquid wax (wax), or HI tech Yellow Wax M26 (wax). All of these are easily accessible at your local hard parts auto store like Autozone or Advance Auto parts.
