  • NXT Wax VS. Gold Class

Today i rewaxed my 1/2 of my hood with gold class paste, then 1/2 with nxt to see the difference. The gold class actually looked better. Then i used scratch X to remove some wax on a section and did half with nxt, half with gold class. And again the gold class looked better. I was just curious to get some other peoples opinions on this? What do you guys like better gold class or nxt?

I have only used Nxt once on my truck, but it seems to me theat the gold class gives me a great deep finish, but the Nxt gives me a good deep finish, and is a little shiner then the gold class but that's my findings so far.

plus it is on my bright red I would like to use some on a darker color.

The look of the GC side might be better but I'd be willing to bet that the NXT'd side will hold up much better.

Again, which wax to use involves a lot of personal preference. Everybody has their own favorites!

I hope that I am not hijaking this forum. I was going to post this question and then saw this one.

This weekend I waxed a friend of mines car with my nxt, looks ok to me, looked great to her. She thought it looked brand new again.. anyway, finished the job and then saw that she had a bottle of gold class. I used my PC of course, which means I have a 8006 pad for my NXT.

Question is: Could I have used my nxt pad and applied the Gold Class with it, and then next time I wax with my nxt to use the same pad? Basicly: 8006 pad used with NXT----Gold Class----NXT.

A buddy of mine said that he read at one time that somone mixed the 2 and used the mixture. So I don't know, any thoughts, suggestions. If this doesn't belond here feel free to move it too.

                  Hi TimBlues20,

Meguiar's recommends only using one product per pad as to not cross-contaminate the pad. Mixing different chemicals on the same pad can alter the performance and the results of the product being applied.

I used NXT wash on new Subaru champagne color and used GC wash on 3yr old Merc beige color ......I found that GC give better shine and not picking up dust as much. So far a bit disappointed with NXT wash. I may decide to use GC wax eventhough the NXT is getting all the rave review here.

Top the NXT with the GC for the best of both (depth from the NXT, gloss from the GC). Tried that this past summer with my (electric green) Stang, loved it. I let the NXT cure for @24 hours before topping with the GC.

                        electricgreen,
Have you tried the other way round i.e. GC and then NXT?
                        Which way looks better?

I use them both.... NXT on Black gives a very deep reflection and shine. However that is what goes on the car. I use Gold Class on the truck due to the fact it still looks great and last longer on my DD

No. I found that with my color, the nxt deepened it and GC made it glossier, so I figured the best combo for me was NXT then GC.

For me, NXT wins hands down over GC. IMHO, there is nothing like NXT Tech Wax on a black car! Durability for me has been much better with the NXT. GC looks good, but Meguiar's has better products like NXT, MPPP, and #26.

I found the NXT car wash to work better than GC car wash, but GC would be my second choice. I have fewer problems with water spots with the NXT, it leaves a slicker surface, and water sheets of the car better.
