  • NXT Wash Back?

I see Amazon is selling NXT wash--is this back in production?

Amazon is also selling the NXT wax, but all the sellers are third parties, where the wash is sold directly by Amazon. Given that they show 200+ washes and 400+ waxes sold in the last month, it's hard for me to imagine this is old stock someone found in a warehouse somewhere.

We still some stock with some of our International Partners and I see that a lot of the NXT shampoo is out of the UK as shown on Amazon. Quite honestly, the popularity of the Ultimate Line sort of killed NXT, ultimately (see what I did there?). But NXT overall was still hugely popular outside the US, to the point that many official distributors were having a hard time dealing with black market importers. Some players were actually buying NXT products by the pallet load (not directly from us, but via some larger distributors) and shipping those in containers to various countries/regions. To combat this, we reset NXT for international consumers with new labelling and new part numbers, none of which were sold to any distributors in the US - only directly to official importers of our products. Regardless, it's always a bit interesting to see retailers, even here in the US, who have some very old stock on hand. Heck, I remember a customer calling and complaining about not being able to get the rebate off the neck hanger on the bottle of quick detailer they had just bought because the expiration date of the rebate program was something like 5 years past. And he had just bought the bottle!!! People have even called us and asked about "a new product I just saw on a store shelf" and wondered what it was. It was a product we had discontinued years prior, but the retailer must have found a carton of it in their warehouse or something. Happens more often that you might think.

So you're saying this is either old stock, or is being "illegally" imported to the US from markets where you still sell NXT?

Possible old stock, yes. Illegal importation to the US, no. The illegal importing was being done by unscrupulous.people buying in bulk in the US and then flooding foreign markets with the product, usually undercutting the official importer's pricing. We essentially killed off NXT in the US, and redesigned it for markets other than North America.

So what product replaced the NXT 2.0? I’m one of those consumers that bought the liquidated new old stock NXT 2.0 Wax from a discount store and I’m concerned with self life. I’m on the fence between deep crystal, mirror glaze, or the new ceramic line up. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

I would recall Ultimate Liquid Wax came out after NXT. I was loving NXT and tried ULW when they dropped it on the scene. New formula is even nicer.

I do also really like the Ceramic line too. I am a big fan of M27/M799 combo especially.

Meguiar's M21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0 is going to be the most similar to NXT Tech Wax 2.0.

How does ULW differ from NXT (M21) in their ingredients and their goals (shine, beads, durability, etc) I've used both and liked both. Back when I used NXT and switched to ULW it was because I figured it was the latest product from Megs. Never gave it too much thought. Now I'm curious what set them apart.

M21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0 is a step down in protection, however, it is going to be the most similar in application for a liquid to NXT Tech Wax 2.0. Ultimate Paste Wax would be another option. It applies and feels much different than Ultimate Liquid Wax. Ultimate Paste Wax is a more traditional apply thin, let fully dry, and wipe off, compared to ULW is a more apply/wipe off, doesn't really dry to a haze type feel.

I would go with the ULW. A breeze to use. Very easy to apply and remove. With the massive amount of plastic trim on cars now, this will not stain the trim at all. You can buy it anywhere plus you get a foam applicator and microfiber towel inside the box.
