I have a slight dilemma. If I wash, clay, then clean with DC#1, DC#2 and finish with GC wax, will there be any positives/negatives to including it in the process?
if you have a dark car, there is a benefit to using Gold Class wax. It has darkening qualities that make your paint feel warmer and darker than most other synthetic waxes. Also, since it is a synthetic, it will last a little longer than the DC 3. Allthough people say that Gold class is one of the shortest lasting synthetics that Meg's makes.
If you really want attention, I used to do this (before I started using NXT) I would Wash, clay, DC 1, DC 2, then Gold Class wax, then DC 3 on top of the Gold class. On a dark car, it really richens up the colors.
Have fun, and don't be afraid to experiment a little.

Well, I don’t see any dilemma in what you are doing to be honest. I have found this sequence to be a very good combination. After Claying and using DC #1, you may not need to apply that every time you wax. Depends on environment conditions, how clean you keep your car, keeping your car in a garage or parked outside all the time (lots of variables). As Xtreme99_s-Dime stated above, you can experiment perhaps after you did your first full detail (in your sequence selection you stated) and see what works best for you. Of course this is all dependent on how much time (and $$$) you want to invest..
I am not sure what negatives you would be refering to. After polishing, you paint will be unprotected if you dont include a wax.
Perhaps you are worried about compatibility with the DC system, but that will not be a problem. All of Meguiars products work well together, and Gold Class, Nxt, and any professional waxes can all be used with the DC system.
