  • Meguiars clay question... What clay was I using?

A few weeks ago I bought some clay from Meguiars 800 number. I used it for the first time yesterday and the clay is awsome, much better than the clay in the Quik Clay System! Easy to use doen't smear as easy. I am really happy with it but I tossed the box in the trash and I don't know what it was exactly. Its a yellow clay about $8.00, just a single clay bar in a red box with "Meguiars" in small print all over the box, it was not Detailer clay. I can't find it on the web site and not to sure of the part number. I want to see if I can get it locally so I don't have to pay shipping on just a clay bar. Anyone else have one or know what I am talking about?

Any help would be great! Thanks

GB, your order should be in Meguiar's computer...I would call back and ask them to research your last order, as I am interested in it too.

I checked their price list, but I didn't see any clay for $8.00.

Never thought of that Rusty Bumper if I get a chance I will have to do that tomorrow. Seems to me it was $7.95 I know when the customer service guy told me about it I was surprised since I have never seen it anywhere and wasn't to sure what I was getting.

I'm not familar with a 'yellow' clay from Meguiar's. Maybe it was an older product.

The current offering consists of the Quick Clay system, Overspray Clay, and both clays in the detailer line; none of which are yellow. Stay tuned though, I think we may see a different array very very very soon....

They have a D-6100, 200 gram bar of clay in the Detailer Line for $20.50 according to my Pro cataloge, and it has a gold color to it.

Oh yeah. I forgot about that little gem... maybe that was it? You say it only cost around $8? This might be the clay as they may have reason to move more of it out the door in short order.

I called the 800 number and it was called a Smooth & Clean 3oz Clay bar Part # A1103 at $7.95 each. They told me that the only place you could get it was from the 800 number. You know I have not used many clay bars but I was very happy with it worked well and easy to use! He also said they were changing some of the clay and going to be getting some new bars soon. Hope they keep this one around.
