I had an important meeting to go to and the only slot left in the lot was under a Jakaranda tree - no choice but to park there. I figured it was only for 2 hours and it wouldn't be too bad, but when I got back to the car the paint and windows looked and felt like fine grit sand paper! It took 5 minutes to get the junk off the windshield at a gas station before the 30 mile drive home, and I figured the sun and engine heat would bake the sap into epoxy by the time I was there. Amazingly, 10 minutes with Final Detail and a a half dozen Terry towels cleaned the entire car to a 'babybutt' smooth finish. Only the hood needed two passes with the Final Detail - everything else came off in one application. I am impressed with the NXT that was applied a month ago! (One coat NXT, no booster yet - just 3 applications of Final detail in the last month to knock back the dust!)

How hot was it? I would think the same thing, engine heat plus direct sunlight will easily bring the temperature up to 140 degrees plus!

Thanks for sharing and I'm glad you were able to remove the tree sap before it epoxied itself onto your car's finish!

It was only about 70 F outside, but there were no clouds - ample sunlight for those little sap droplets to focus while being baked by the body metal. The body panels were quite warm to the touch when I got home, and the hood was hot! I left it in the garage with the windows down and hood up for an hour before cleaning.
I wouldn't like to repeat this experiment in August! But then, there probably wouldn't be as much sap in August as in April, so it might be a wash (no pun)!

Thats good to hear. I have used NXT a couple times and really like it. I had the same problem as you on Tuesday. I parked under a tree at school. When I got to my truck there was tree sap all over. It was raining that day so it wasnt hot or sunny. Later that dayI went to wash it and had no luck getting it off. This was on my brand new truck to, which I havent had time to detail. So I had to wash and clay it and on Friday I am going to detail it and will have NXT on it.Elite Mobile Detailing
