    Hello, new here.

I have used the NXT liquid wax and use the Speed Detailer for just a little dust, etc.

I have a new Harley, have waxed the painted surfaces with the NXT wax and I want to maintain the chrome & laced wheels. I was thinking of washing all with the NXT Wash, then just maintaining the chrome & laced wheels with the Speed Detailer.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

How about NXT metal polysh? Apply with a foam applicator and remove with a mf cloth. It will add some protection and really bring out the beauty of the metal components.

Well, I am not lazy, but can you imagine the work involved doing a front & rear motorcycle wheel and each individual spoke.

Also, the spokes look like chrome but are really cadium plated, so I would never use any type of cleaner / polish which may begin to remove the cadium plating.

My thoughts is a very gentle wash and maybe the NXT Speed Detailer to maintain the laced wheels and be somewhat easy to use.

      Thanks.

Sounds like a light misting of Speed Detailer followed by wiping down with a plush microfiber or 100% terry cloth towel.

Would you say Speed Detailer over the NXT Spray Wax for chrome & laced wheels? And a lot of the chrome in on a hot engine, does that change your choice?

Also, the engine is black powder coated with chrome, would washing with the NXT Wash leave any type of residue on the black powder coat?

          Thanks.

It will if you don't carefully rinse the surface and dry with either or blower or a mf/ww towel. NXT is designed to sheet the water, but there will be residue droplets that need to be removed with a soft mf towel. I didn't realize you had spoke wheels, I guess polishing would be a little time consuming guess I should read comments more thoroughly.

I was more asking if the wash would leave any kind of white waxy residue on the black powder coat. The powder coat is a rough finish, meaning if you touch a towel to it the material will get stuck and leave little pieces of the cloth.

I do appreciate your thoughts. Just want to keep the bike looking good.

              Thanks.

It won't leave any waxy deposits, but if you have hard water, minerals in the water such as calcium can cause water spots. I don't know if you have tried using a supreme shine or ultimate wipe towels, but they are different than a standard terry towel and will not leave lint on rough surfaces.

On average motorcycle detailing is more time consuming that car detailing. I have two BMW GS motorcycles with cross spoke wheels. I suggest you use a high quiality wash like Gold Class Wash. Use the new spoke brush and a wash mitt. Put yourself in front of the front tire and not next to it. If possilbe get some kind of lift in order to be able turn the wheels while cleaning. Buy an electric leaf blower in order to dry the bike. If you don't wash your bike regularly the dust of the the brake pads tends to stick to the spokes, so washing the wheels regularly is important
