  • Using ScratchX and ColorX....

Seeing as to how ColorX is a cleaner wax will it remove the ScratchX that was applied before it?

My original plan was to apply ScratchX after finishing claying my Trans Am then apply ColorX.. But the more and more I think about this it seems to pointless..

    Am I wrong?

PIC of my TA prior to it 2005 complete detail session...

Actualy, that would be perfect. Scratch X is a pure cleaner, it leaves nothing of vaule behind. You need to follow up with a polish and wax after that to get the most benefits out of ScratchX.

Since ColorX is a cleaner/wax, you will actualy be doing a second cleaning, (nothing wrong with that), and then polish and wax in one step. Thats the right way to do things. The only thing you could do different would be to use a dedicated cleaner, dedicated polish, and dedicated wax, rather than a one step product.

I will give a couple other points... In the future, you may not need to use ScratchX every time. It is really for removing swirls. Switching to ColorX topped with Nxt, or Gold Class, etc, would be a great combo, if you are looking for time saving combos.

Actually I had planned on using Nxt after the ColorX...

Guess I should have mentioned that...

ZeusJr, sweet TA. I love that body style, and I always wanted a TA. I hated to see them go.

I think you have the right idea about detailing. Looks like you would probably be good just using the Color X and a good wax. The car looks to be in excellent shape.

Thanks... I've owned it since brand new and it is in great shape. But it's time to step it up to the next level...

Just over 10k.. Not my Daily Driver but I do drive her everywhere. Matter of fact I just got back from a 1300+ mile round trip to Atlanta (where the above PIC was taken) for the F-body Gathering 9...
