Bug and tar remover?

I just tossed my "Blue Magic" (or something like that) bottle of bug and tar remover in the trash it was worth less and hard to use!

I saw a post on www.autopia.org but.... for those who use Gold Class Bug and Tar Remover, what are your thoughts on it? I have always been a little concerned about using such a product on the paint but I am sure they are all safe. Does it do the job and leave the paint looking good?

it works pretty good for me .but you have to wax when you are done useing it . i herd a little dab of w.d. 40 takes tar right off anybody ever tried this

i know this thread is almolst half a decade old but i use GC Bug and Tar remover on the front of my Mom's 4Runner and it does not do anyhting that will damage the paint you may have to re wax in that area though

Hmm.. I have a Blue Corral Gel one that I like a lot... must be 15 yrs old or so, and still not empty.

15 years old!!!, thats a long time. You must really like it then , do they still sell it or is it like worth gold to you

Maybe 10... Its just a gel, and the littlest dab just covers the bug, and sits for a few minutes, so it lasts forever. The bottle is even cracked, and the stuff wont dry up. I squeeze it out through the crack.

I have started using the piece of wet paper towel trick for when I dont feel like waxing, so I dont use the bug and tar all the time.
