  • Questions on ColorX

Hi all I understand that ColorX is a strong cleaner/wax it offers excellent cleaning ability and protection. However some detailing enthusiast told me that ColorX contained some paint nourishing oils which makes the surface smooth like silk.

I normally top up NXT over the ColorX and was wondering if the ColorX really contained oil, would the bonding of the NXT be affected in anyway? Since its not in direct contact with the clear coat. He was mentioning once the oils/part wax of the ColorX diminishes, the NXT will be gone too. Any advise on this theory? Tks.

In my experience, ColorX is a great base for NXT. I've never had any problem with applying NXT over ColorX. Wait 24 hours for ColorX to cure if you want to be safe.

I would say #80 or #7 has a lot more oils and NXT has gone right over them with no problems at all.

ColorX has the same types of oils and waxes as other Megs products. I dont know which way things would evaporate/dissipate first, but it will be the same as any other product. Same as topping DC#2 with DC#3, and that has always worked just fine, as have the other combinations. So there is no reason to worry about that too much.
