I know there's alot of people who would say that since NXT is a pure wax type product it would be a good idea to first apply a pure polish like Deep Crystal Polish before waxing, but how much of a difference is this step really going to make? I'm sure the color of the paint is a big factor to consider regarding this question, as darker colors will likely benefit more from polishing before waxing......but with a product like NXT Tech Wax as a topper, is the difference between using NXT alone on a clean surface, say after claying and cleaning, as opposed to adding the pure polish step before the NXT gong to make a considerable difference? I have a silver car myself, and though I haven't tried it yet, I'de be interested to see if using a pure polish before NXT would actually make any kind of noticeable difference. Everyone feel free to share your experiences with using NXT alone or with a pure polish on this thread. I'de love to hear some opinions!

Deep Crystal Polish before NXT Tech Wax?

When I got my first jug of NXT car wash I decided to polish my red car as well as NXT wax it.
SO on whent the NXT wash and with remarkable results,
next I used deep crystal polish taking care not to apply the product too thickly.
as a final step I applyed two thin coats of NXT wax (Previously I had used NXT alone) and I think the end result clearly justified using the polish first
I have no experience with clay so I am unable to answer if clay would make a further difference.Scott Neth

I have used it both ways, with and with out a polish. NXT works great both ways. I have use it with Deep Crystal Polish and I had better results with the combo - Deep Crystal Polish/NXT. Keep in mind this is on a black vehicle.
If you have some polish try it in a small area then apply NXT and see what you think.
I am a believer of dedicated in: Cleaners - Polishes - Waxes

Well, in general, the deeper colors will show more difference after being polished, as far as a deeper reflection and wetter look. In my opinion, it can also sometimes pull out the metalic flecs in metalic paints.
On a light colored car, like silver, and espeacialy white, the polish will not have as much affect, based just on the looks of well kept paint.
On less cared for paint, the oils can rejuvenate the paint to improve the appearence. For that reason, polishing even a light color every so often can still be beneficial, so your paint stays nourished, but doesnt need done every single time.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue
