Just found this post I did awhile back maybe about a year ago or so, still had my garage cluttered up and all my products where still inside. Have a buddy that just bought this jeep and brought it to me to see if I could "help these scratches, it looks bad" still remember that sentence!
This is a 1975 CJ5 jeep with a repaint and someone was a little mad at the previous owner! He brought it down and I looked at the scratches and a couple caught my finger so I told him that I could remove some but not all and it would look alot better then it does now.
Washed, dried, taped, covered and ready for some polishing. Ultimate Compound / 7424XP / Light Cutting Pad for this detail. Paint looks pretty good until you get alittle closer.

And the close up!

This is after 3 application of Ultimate Compound with LC's flat light cutting pad on my 7424XP DA on speed setting 6 using about 12 to 15 lbs pressure and slow arm speed. Much better! can only see a couple scratches that were pretty deep, plus UC also brought out the richness and gloss of this nice orange paint. Could have used a more aggressive cleaner and got the job done sooner but there's no need in removing more clear then necessary.

Passenger side had some average light swirls nothing major.
About 4 section passes with UC to clear up.

Hood shot, again just neede about 4 section passes to clear up and bring some richness and gloss back.

After all polished out and my favorite wax applied (#26 Hi Tech Yellow Wax/Paste) Wheel Wells, Tires dressed, windows cleaned and ready to go.

Sorry for such a short post with not alot of pictures but it was still pretty cold out and this was pretty much a favor for a friend, The bad thing is about a week after he came and picked up as he was driving down the road going somewhere he had a underhood fire that burnt and scorch the hood real bad but at least he got it put out. could have been real bad and lost the whole jeep!
Thanks for looking!
