  • Headlight cleaning?

I have a detail to do tomorrow, i thinks its a 2000 or 2001 ford mystique, and the headlight look sorta yellow, without sanding them i would like to clean them up a bit for him. my question is in own plastic x and the two seperate bottles, of meg's plastic cleaner and polish, numbers 10 and 17 i think. which would be better to use for this application and can i use a pc with them?

    thanks,
    jon

I used to do my headlights on a taurus with a LC white pad and AIO, until i noticed that the clear film on the lenses was wearing away.

I only do em by hand now, but someothers might chime in with a different idea.

Some plastic has a coating on it, when this is the case, you are fairly restricted as to what you can do to repair or restore the clarity as you are limited by this thin coating.

If the plastic is not coated, then you have more leeway as to what you can use.

For light cleaning, Meguiar's recommends M17 Plastic Cleaner. This is a safe, gentle, non-abrasive plastic cleaner.

For more cleaning power, use PlastX. PlastX contains a microscopic diminishing abrasive which together with your applicator material and a little passion supplied by you can restore severely oxidized and neglected plastics.
