  • Black Tahoe Cleaning process

Hey guys, been reading on the forums and love all the info. I recently got a 07 Chevy Tahoe and it's the dreading BLACK. I love it when it's clean but it's a pain otherwise. I bought it about 6 months ago and took it to a new car dealership in town and they buffed it out.. Looked great but It's time to re do it. I bought the Claybar kit, Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish, And Ultimate Wax. I have a couple of questions, would you guys suggest the Ultimate Liquid Wax or the Paste, or the Black Wax? Going to be putting it on with a craftsman orbiter, ( I KNOW I KNOW) just to get it finished up quicker than by hand. Also once I get it all polished and waxed, how's the maintaining process, which soap do you suggest and do I need to spray the ultimate quick detailer on it after I was and dry it? Thanks so much for the help

if you are going to do individual steps, then the ult. wax would make sense.... Probably liquid.

you would use the black wax maybe followed by ult wax for a quicker detail.

Gold Class soap would be great, and yeah, UQW while drying is nice.

No, you don't have to use it after every wash (although I do on one of our cars). Most people use it after every second wash.

Actually you can use it as a drying aid whilst drying the car i.e. spray it on a wet panel and then dry the panel with a wffle weave MF towel. This saves time and provides some lubrication to your towel etc when drying.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I typically use ultimate quik wax monthly. All other times I use ultimate quik detailer after drying the car as a wax booster. I get good results and I would recommend having both products.
