Hello, so I have a 2006 f150 screw. Looking at the paint in the bright sun it looks pretty good. It is charcoal beige in color. I am wondering what wax would give me a nice wet glossy shine to the truck. I tried upw and I love the protection it gives me but not the shine I want. Would uqd ontop of that give it a little more shine? And can I use upw if I wash with wash and wax? I'm a little confused about not being able to "layer" products. My friend told me I can't put upw onto of wash and wax because of wax vs sealant type wax but another said if its the ultimate line you can put whatever with anything

Ultimate is a sealant, not a wax. If you allow it 12 hours to cure, you can layer on it. I layer pure carnauba over sealant and it looks amazing. I also use a wash/sealant called Zep Zep-o-shine or Chemical guys Citrus wash and wax and have no problems.Doing the best I can with what I've got.

Re: ultimate compatible?
Which wash and wax product are you using?
I want to say it would be fine but there is a possibility that the wash and wax product you are using may leave something behind that can deter proper bonding of UW.
However, even so, I would venture to guess that you may lose some durability of UW but I highly doubt it damage the paint in any way.
I am pretty sure Meguiar's will do their due diligence to make sure that their products are compatible with many popular brands but we really cant expect them to make sure of this with 100% of products out in the market. That would be unreasonable.
Having said that, and someone can correct me if I am wrong but pretty much most if not all Meg's products are compatible with each other.
If you are using a Meg's wash and wax type of product, you should be fine. You can also top UW with something like Gold Class Plus Carnauba.
UQD is for cleaning light dusting and etc and altho it does have some polymers, the correct product you want to use is Ultimate Quik Wax which is a spray wax.
Since you are in search for the ultimate shine, I want to say that it is in the prep work that provides the shine. No amount of wax on a damaged paint will out shine a paint with a flawless finish even with no wax.2012 Acura CBP TL SH-AWD Tech

The truck isn't really a "7 year old truck". It was stored in a nice heated shop 85% of it's life. Only has 80k km on it too! And for my prep I coin wash to get the big stuff off.(no brush!) Rinse, soap, rinse x2, (I know the guy that runs the coin op it's very nice) then wash at home with ult wash and wax, then I use mothers clay, I follow the clay with more show time to make sure the clays completely off, then ultimate polish. Then a little scratch x for any worse spots. Then buddy told me to put some more show time and wipe that off to completely remove polish. Then wax with ultimate paste wax. Then uqw instead of another coat. Does this sound like a good way to go? Any suggestions? I know that using a qd to make sure everything's removed is over kill but I do have a bunch from work (they ordered mothers protect and got show time so the parts guy gave me a bunch of it)
Any tips or suggestions are appreciated and considered. Keep in mind I'm using all tlc from my hand and not a machine!
Also, how good is upw against mud? Haha
Thanks again!

I don't layer, waist of time and money to me.
I don't "wipe" with any spray, after you polish you wipe with a MFT, done, wax, collect the money, on to the next customer.
Yes, but it's my own truck so I'm in no money grab rush and will take all the time and processes to perfection

The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
