  • M105 issue

So I was detailing my own car with the g220 and M105, got AWESOME results! very very pleased with all the products I used.

The thread of the detailing: http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums...int-correction

One issue I had is with the M105, I guess I did something wrong, maybe chose the wrong pad? I used M105 with the red pad W7207:

I got lots of dust when cutting through the paint, I mean A LOT of dust, a few things I would like to mention in order to make things more clear:
    1. I use enough product, not too much, not too little. applying the shape of an X on the pad.
    2. I do a section at a time, like 45x45cm I guess.
    3. Used the G220
    4. Cleaned the pad using a brush I have (not a meguiars product, couldn't get this one at the store) like every 2-3 sections.
    5. worked with a wet pad, just sprayed it with some quick detailer every now and then (same with the brush here-couldn't get the final inspection...)
    6. dust was mainly while working... only a bit when removing it later.
    7. outside temp was like 30c but i was working in the shade with ventilation. you wouldn't get better than that
    8. speed set on 4-5

I assume I did something wrong, maybe th quick detailer can't replace the Final inspection? of maybe too large area? maybe didn't clean it enough while working?
I would be glad to hear what you guys think, I got great results but cleaning all this mess from the dust was a hard work.
Note: I read this thread: http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums...dust-with-M105
But still my case is a bit different...
So let me know what you think, I got my dad's Buick le-sabre waiting for me, and I don't want to repeat this error

    Thanks,
    Sahar.

    Re: M105 issue

    You used way to much.
After the pad is primed you should only use a few drops.
105 or any compound will dust.

Way too much product? or way too much liquid (QD) ?
Also, what do you think of using the QD instead of the F.ISPECTION?
      Thanks!

            OMG. Don't do this.
Don't add anything to any product.
            Learn how to use it.
Even water screws it all up. I know, I know people use water all the time.
I've never added anything to 105 and it's worked on everything I've come across exceptep for a crappy Single Stage that was extremely dry.
But out of the thousands of cars 105 has worked on 99% of the detailers don't add anything especialypeicaly oil, geesh.
