Hey everyone. I own a black GMC Sierra, and I've used Zaino for years, and now I'm trying NXT liquid wax. I know it needs to be applied thin, but I'm struggling at getting it applied evenly and thin enough. There are always streaks/haze where I first begin applying NXT to my truck after putting a dab of NXT on the applicator pad. Would a spritz of UQD on the pad help with spreading the product evenly? In the past when my Zaino would streak a simple wash would even the streaks and remove them, but removing the streaks and haze from NXT has been very difficult I've had to use Gold Class Wash over the affected areas several times to remove the streaks. I even waited several days and the streaks were still difficult to remove. I really want NXT to work for me, but these streaks are so frustrating. I also used #7 glaze prior to the wax. Would the NXT paste wax be any easier to spread? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Re: NXT 2.0 application tips needed
Hmm.. sounds like you may be applying too much.
Are you letting it haze before removing? How long for?Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

NXT 2.0 Paste in my experience can be a bit difficult to apply, you just have to apply it as thin as you can. Another option would be via DA Buffer, you can scrape of a really thin layer and spread it on the buffing pad as if spreading butter on bread, set it between 3 and 4.

Thanks for the quick replies. My problem is that I will put a dime size spot of NXT on my pad and then I will smooth it out with my finger. The spot where I first place my pad on my truck will have the thickest amount of product, and I can never spread the product out well enough to make a "barely visible" even layer. There will be thick spots and streaks here and there that never spread as thin as needed. Will a damp applicator pad help?

What I do when I use ultimate liquid wax, is put a small amount on the pad and dab it across the panel I'm working with and then work it in until I have a real thin layer applied. That way you are not putting the product all in one spot.
Another tip that I have read is to apply it to the center of the panel and work your way out.

Applying via a DA polisher is a good way to ensure a thin coat of wax.Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. Re: NXT 2.0 application tips needed
Liquid should be a lot easier to apply, how hot was the surface when you applied the NXT 2.0 liquid? I've had issues with streaking when the surface is a bit too warm. I misread your post, seems to me that NXT 2.0 liquid is way easier to apply than the paste, the paste seems to drag for some reason but barely experienced any streaking or smearing with it. I still have my NXT 2.0 liquid, and never had any issues in applying a barely visible coat of wax.

Don't put a lot on the pad at one time that way spreading it thin would be somewhat easier, but as others said a DA polisher is the real trick to applying any wax and it doesn't take long at all either.
What I do is let it dry for a few hours and then remove it.
