What is the difference between Ultimate Compound and Swirl X?

What is the difference between Ultimate Compound and Swirl X in terms of aggression? and is it worth getting both? Ie if i'm machine polishing and use ultimate compound to clean the surface is it going to improve using Swirl X after? Is it worth having Swirl X as a less aggressive compound to use on someones car if the defects are minor and don't need UC? I'd use a soft polishing pad 2.0 (yellow). Could you use Swirl X with the wax pad for even finer cutting? I may order a more a brown pad as well incase I need more cut..

Also is it best to use the yellow or black 2.0 pad for applying deep crystal polish (stage 2 of 3)

Well, UC is stronger.

If you were just going to go with the basics, you would want UC, Ult. Polish or #205, and then wax, and the polishing and finishing pads.

If you are going to be working on many peoples cars, or just want more options available on your own, then the SwirlX, DC Polish, etc can be considered.

And the black pad in most cases for the DC Polish.

Thanks man.. I already own UC and Deep Crystal Polish.. Thanks for letting me know i'll use a black pad for DC polish.. Just looking at a second hand 220 v1 polisher that comes with yellow and black pads plus 83 cleaner polish and 80 speed glaze so hopefully I get that and i'll have plenty of options.. Assuming cleaner polish is lightly harsher than UC (with a polish built in) and speed glaze slightly lighter probably similar to swirl x.. and yes I already own Ultimate Wax and mauy buy more.. Although I feel its a tad pricey it does go on thin and prefer the synthetic waxes.

UC will be stronger than #83 (or milder if applied gently), and generally easier to use.

Cool I didn't end up getting the kit second hand I bought a brand new G220 V2 and pads so will be using Ultimate compound for everything..

I've just seen on a meguirs video that Ultimate Compound is their most aggressive compound followed by sctachj x and swirl x as their finest.. I'mn tempted to try 3M ultrafina and there ultra soft pad as the results on my friends were like a mirror.. It may be less noticable on lighter metallic cars but on his red it was unbelievable..
