Is Ultimate Paste Wax Considered a Sealant?

I have used this product with great results. A company which provides products to the lemay and peterson museums markets a sealant which they claim lasts for a
full year. Will Ultimate last a full year? One of the cars is parked outside in the washington state weather.

I guess what I am asking is what meguiar product will serve as a sealant and give me the longest protection?

Yes, Ultimate Wax (paste and liquid) is a polymer based product (not natural, carnauba based) so it's a sealant.
It offers the longest durability from Meguiar's arsenal, besides M188 Deep Crystal Coating (only available is Asia).

If you look for a super long protection (over 1 year) then you have to use one of the permanent coatings (C-Quartz, Opti-Coat, G-Techniq, etc).

Thank you for your prompt reply. The other company (griots garage) does not list the contents of their sealant so I had no way of comparing it to ultimate.

The longest durability I have seen on my own vehicles with UPW is 5-6 months.

That's about 6 months more than I need. Once every year is not enough. I need protection about once every six months. Ultimate seems to fit the bill.

Rick, keep in mind that protection durability will directly depend on your car's usage conditions. Daily driver parked outdoors 24/7 close to industrial pollution sources may not last longer than 2-3 months. Therefore you can help to extend wax protection by doing vehicle maintenance program: using one of quick detailers whenever light dust layer accumulates on paint and quick wax after each car wash. If heavier dirt is present Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere would be your best friend replacing quick detailer.
