  • Ultimate Polish versus M205

Are UP and M205 the same thing?

Which would be better to use on a new red car for polishing prior to applying Tech Wax 2.0: UP/M205 or Deep Crystal System Polish?

I will be applying and removing by hand, so I need something that can be done without killing myself!

I think you'll do better using UP when 'doing by hand.'

205 and UP ARE kissin' cousins, but 205 is much more of a 'machine application' product.

Doing a car all by hand is a job, I wouldn't try and do it all in one day. You can spread it out and save you body.

    Good luck...

      Yea, what BillE said.
But i'd get a DA instead...but if $$ is an issue have you considered the DA power system? Cheaper and will save your body. Save time too

If just cleaning and polishing, the products can be applied fairly mildly, not as much work/effort as removing swirls from an entire car.

Another option is to use a cleaner/wax then wax for a quick detail.

UP is derived from M205 - it has more polishing oils than M205, but M205 offers a bit more cut. Since you're working by hand we recommend going with UP. M205 can be used by hand, but it's a lot more expensive than UP, is not as widely available, and it really yields it's maximum potential when applied by machine.
