I tried Ultimate Liquid Wax today for the first time and it is now my favorite wax. I have been using Hi-Tech Yellow Wax #26 and I like that wax a lot and will still use it from time to time. I never even thought of using ULW, I think I overlooked it because it was in the consumer line and I was thinking any professional line product would be better, and I wouldn't say one wax is better than another; just different.
Anyway, ULW went on the paint very easily and you can't see it once it's on the paint which is kinda cool. Also, I work by hand. I would apply too much wax in the past so I made sure to just apply a thin coat. I then waited an hour and wiped off the wax an it came off very easily and my vehicle has never looked better. I did apply #26 wax only one month ago so maybe that's part of the reason it looked so good. I usually wax every 3 months but was excited to try ULW.
I'm not very good at noticing the differences between waxes and between #26 and ULW: it seems ULW bonds/grabs to the paint a little better, ULW wipes off a little easier, and #26 makes the paint look a little more wet but ULW gives more reflectivity; if that makes sense.
Also, I have seen more than a couple of people say on the forum that they had difficulty using ULW and it was hard to wipe off so I'm guessing they applied too much.
That being said, I am very impressed with ULW and glad I tried it. The only waxes I've ever used was a Black Magic wax when I first started getting into detailing, then Hi-Tech Yellow Wax #26 and now ULW. And obviously #26 and ULW are a lot better than the Black Magic wax. And since ULW is one of the newest Meguiars waxes, it makes sense it has some 'technology'.
Also, I still am determined one time to apply a thin coat of ULW and not wipe it off after just to see how that works.
