  • Non-abrasive paint cleaner

    Hello
As above could you please suggest a good non-abrasive cleanser? Is swirls X can be considered as non-abrasive or suggest what do you prefer.

    Thanks to all.

I'm not sure if my statement is accurate but I don't think there's a cleanser that's non-abrasive. In order to clean the paint, you have to abrade or scuff the surface at the very least. Since you want the least abrasive product, I would highly suggest using Ultimate Polish. Of course I'm talking about chemically cleaning the paint.

Griot's Garage has a Paint Prep spray. I don't know what it does and I'm sure it's not abrasive because it's in liquid form.

There's also the Meguiar's consumer 3 step cleaner, polish, carnauba wax before. I don't know if the 1st step cleaner was abrasive or not. But it's discontinued now.

SwirlX has abrasives in it. It's more abrasive than Ultimate Polish.

As Mark says, every paint cleaner Meguiars makes has some sort of abrasive in it, and Ult. Polish will be the mildest.

Perhaps a better question is what are you looking to do/fix? Just something mild for regular detailing?

This thread will show you the aggressiveness order of some polishes Meguiar's offers including SwirlX:

Ultimate Polish will be placed on the right of M205.

                Re: Non-abrasive paint cleaner

Yeah, Ult. Polish would certainly be good then.

                1. Wash
                2. Clay if needed
                3. Clean/Polish - Ult. Polish
                4. Wax
                5. Wax

would be a very good mild detail.

                  Re: Non-abrasive paint cleaner

I haven't seen ColorX mentioned in this discussion. Is it too much of a wax to use in this instance or not enough of a polish?

                    Re: Non-abrasive paint cleaner

ColorX + Wax (or hopefully soon White Wax + Wax) is my favorite quick detail.

You'll certainly get more polishing oils from Ult. Polish, so depending on the car/color, someone may see a difference. I think because the OP asked about SwirlX, we just stuck with products for individual steps.
