Marc, If you checked the other Amazon vendor selling the black & white wax, there is a vendor selling for $9.47...as of Jan 21

Re: I Applied Black Wax to my Black Merc
I agree with ever aspect of your post mb911 I own a Scion Tc in magnetic grey metallic, and good grief man the metallic creates a deep deep shine that not even the UP created, in my opinion anyway. Easy to apply easy to remove. I agree with the tube getting wrinkled it ruins the fun, slightly... i plan to tackle a Black 07 Ford Fusion to see how well this product can get a 5 year old paint job looking!

Re: I Applied Black Wax to my Black Merc
Thanks for the review. Sounds like an easy product to use. Do you have pics of your car after application?
I'm looking forward in hearing your result regarding the product's durability. How would it compare to Cleaner wax or the other stand alone waxes like Gold Class.
BTW, I checked the price on Amazon and the price is now back up to $14.99.

I Applied Black Wax to my Black Merc
A couple weeks ago I ordered Black Wax on Amazon because it was out of stock. Due to being out of stock, they had a great price of nine dollars and change. I think it's in the same status now. It said it could take 1-2 months to ship.
However, to my surprise today a little box came with Black Wax inside!
I was cleaning my black car as it arrived, so I immediately applied black wax! Fun!
Honestly, it's a bit hard for me to review a wax. I will share all I can. Application is easy. I feel you're tempted to overuse the product slightly with the toothpaste style. Nevertheless, the overuse did not have any negative effect. Being a perfectionist, I am somewhat disappointed that the tube gets all wrinkled up like a toothpaste from squeezing on it, even if you're careful to work your way from the back light toothpaste. Indeed, it actually gets more wrinkly than the toothpaste I use.
The paste has a somewhat dark look to it. It didn't seem as fragrant as NXT, Gold Class, etc. but the scent was pleasant nevertheless. Not sure what the scent is, perhaps a very light buttery blackberry.
I cleaned my windows as it continued to haze, and then wiped off easily. It removed as easy as the easiest Meguiar's waxes I have used. No worry about any streaking, etc. like with some of the fully synthetic products. It removed similar to Gold Class.
The finish? The polishing oils are oh so present. It leaves that great, deep, black appearance. Furthermore, it is smooth to the touch and great clarity. The look is good, but then again, lots of polish on a black car is always going to look striking.
My verdict? A quality product. For the average joe at the store shopping, they will be satisfied buying the black wax for his or her dark car as the polish will no doubt wow their eyes. Furthermore, the paste was fairly fun to apply, though slightly more awkward to hold than a tub or a liquid bottle.
My only question comes to longevity. Gold Class also has some great polishing effect, but it's not terribly long lasting. I do not yet know how long lasting Black Wax is going to be. Furthermore, the packaging and tube doesn't seem to stress any particular wax/protection strengths. It's clear it protects, but how does that protection compare to other Meguiar's products?
Overall, awesome application and removal, awesome look on finish. However, I am uncertain the type and quality of protection I have applied to the vehicle.
BTW - I have White Wax on order as well.Tags: None
