  • Quick Wax vs. Ultimate Quick Wax

Can you use the Ultimate quick wax to dry and wax at the same time, like quick wax?

I find it odd that on the standard quick wax it says explicitly use wet or dry, but on the ultimate quick wax it does not say anything about using while wet.

I like to dry once quickly, then go back a second time and get the left over using the quick wax at the same time.

Yeah, I do it like that all the time.

Yep, I dry real quick, then I go over everything with a spray wax to "clean" up any streaking or whatever.

Re: Quick Wax vs. Ultimate Quick Wax

So ultimate QW is ok to use with a little leftover water or stick just the quick wax?

Last night I actually just sprayed quick wax right over the water before I dried. It was ok but seemed to be a lot of work. I finished off a bottle of QW that was pretty old and seemed much thicker and harder to get off than the new bottle I had. Could have been because it was old but it seemed more like meguiars changed the formula.

I think there was an update to the QW, but I never liked the QW as much anyway.

UQW is much much better. As noted above, I do a quick wipe to get most of the water, and then a final wipe to get the drips/spots etc while spraying UQW lightly.

You can use any of our spray waxes while drying - Quik Wax, Gold Class Premium Quik Wax, Ultimate Quik Wax, D156 Synthetic Express Spray Wax all work well this way. If you like to do a quickie dry first and then go back over the car with with the spray wax to "finish off", that's fine. If you'd rather just do the sheeting rinse first to remove the vast majority of water beads and then spray and dry from there, that's fine too.

As for a reformulation of the original Quik Wax, yes, we did update it. It no longer stains plastic trim and is easier to wipe off than the original formulation.
