The Mustang's clean, and clay so far. Once I start to get some shade back, I'm going back out to do a quick detailer spray, then polish and wax it. So far, the clay alone has made this thing look better than it ever has, including when I first bought it! Still have some slight contaminants, mainly on the bumpers, but that will be a job done later on when I try some more aggressive clays. Pictures will come soon!

Doing my first 4 step detail :)
2006 Mustang GT - 5-speed (converted from automatic), JLT v3 intake, Steeda UDP's, FRPP CMCV delete plates, BBK 62mm throttle body, Strut tower brace, a-arm brace, J&M uca/lca's, rear axle brace, Pro 5.0 short shifter, probably forgetting a few things...Tags: None

Re: Doing my first 4 step detail
Using a stronger clay may not be necessary. I would instead go back and re-clay the bumpers rather than jumping to a more aggressive one, better to err on the side of safety, then remove any other problems with a more potent cleaner (Ultimate Compound, SwirlX, or Ultimate Polish) then Wax/Sealant

Re: Doing my first 4 step detail
I've gone through other cleaners already, and really don't feel like wet sanding when I know the stuff will come out. It's just been sitting there for a while, so it probably dug deep down. I know the stuff will come out, but I was going at it for quite a while with the consumer clay with limited results. Otherwise, everything's done, and it looks amazing. Gonna get some pictures tonight when the temperature cools down a bit. Waiting on some Sonax to get here tuesday (the only non-Meguiar's stuff I use, other than invisible glass.) Once the wheels are clean with that, polish, then brake barrier's going on.2006 Mustang GT - 5-speed (converted from automatic), JLT v3 intake, Steeda UDP's, FRPP CMCV delete plates, BBK 62mm throttle body, Strut tower brace, a-arm brace, J&M uca/lca's, rear axle brace, Pro 5.0 short shifter, probably forgetting a few things...

Re: Doing my first 4 step detail
Oh no, it's nothing like that. It's just particle type stuff like brake dust/rail dust particles. The stuff that's closer to the surface was coming out with some coaxing. No tar though or actual stains.2006 Mustang GT - 5-speed (converted from automatic), JLT v3 intake, Steeda UDP's, FRPP CMCV delete plates, BBK 62mm throttle body, Strut tower brace, a-arm brace, J&M uca/lca's, rear axle brace, Pro 5.0 short shifter, probably forgetting a few things...

Re: Doing my first 4 step detail
Shots that showed how bright the tires/wheels are weren't exactly optimal, but this shot came out great.2006 Mustang GT - 5-speed (converted from automatic), JLT v3 intake, Steeda UDP's, FRPP CMCV delete plates, BBK 62mm throttle body, Strut tower brace, a-arm brace, J&M uca/lca's, rear axle brace, Pro 5.0 short shifter, probably forgetting a few things...
