  • ultimate paste ??

    Hi Gang

I finally ran out of my NXT and got some UPW . Just so I know does the the old swipe test work with the paste or is there another method i should use. Seems like theres been a ton of ult liquid talk . So i'm just making sure.

    Thanks

    Re: ultimate paste ??

The swipe test usually works with UPW. However, if after five minutes it still streaks, it is still ready to be taken off.
IME UPW acts like a normal wax and passes the swipe test when ready to be removed, but ULW does not dry the majority of the time.

Thanks for the reply. I have went to a 1hr dry time due to the humidity down here in Fla. Seems to be working

You can use a slightly dampe cloth if needed to help removal.

I use UPW all the time in a tropical climate. So long as you apply it very thinly, removing it shouldn't be a problem.

If you have an electric polisher using the aplicator pad and spreading it around a bit, then the machine to get it even on the spot you're working it with, the wax will get worked well like a nice lotion on your skin. Do the entire car and like you mentioned wait depending on the conditons to take it off. Seems your a paste user so you know what I'm talking about.

              Re: ultimate paste ??

Ultimate Wax in paste form definitely behaves a bit differently on the paint than the liquid version does. It behaves in a more "traditional" way in that it will dry to a haze and the swipe test still works. But it does easily apply in a very thin coat and wipes off extremely easily. Keep in mind that even though the liquid version won't stain black plastic trim, but the ingredients that make the paste a paste will stain that trim, so use a bit of care when applying it.

Thanks for all the replys everyone. I love the gloss I have now but I think my color is one of those in between colors for nxt of upw . I'm down here in Fla so it will definitely be a torture test for it . I was getting 3-4mths out of nxt so I'm interested to see what happens .
