When I apply the liquid Ultimate Wax with my DA, I can hardly see where I applied it on the vehicle. I know it's not supposed to take much wax, but I think I'm using alot more than I need because I can't see if it's actually getting on the vehicle. Is it just me or does anyone else notice this?

Scroll down untill you come across the blue civic's hood covered in wax. That is what it should look like.

I don't have the link handy, but I'll look for it. Mr. Stoops shows how much liquid Ultimate Wax is needed for a whole car.
For me, I can see the wax just fine on the roof, hood and trunk, but not so well on the sides. I just make sure I use the same arm speed, cover everything and try not to overwork any of the passes. Some of us don't have as good of lighting as the Meguiar's garage.

We actually did this with the paste version using a 4" pad on the DA and, to be completely honest, it's probably on there a bit heavier than it needs to be (!!) It still wiped of with no real effort, though.Originally posted by smack View Post
The liquid version of UW will go on even thinner due to the different ingredients that make a liquid a liquid, and a paste a paste. So, yes, applying UW liquid with a DA is going to result in a very, very thin coat that can be difficult to see on lighter color paint. If you look at the paint from the right angles, however, you'll see a loss in the clarity of the reflections as the wet product is sitting on the paint and drying. That's probably the best indicator of where you have and haven't applied wax.Michael Stoops
