Just wanted to comment on this stuff. I recently bought a rotary polisher. I had small scratches which required wet sanding. I started with 2500 grit to be safe, it took awhile but I took it very slowly. I then hit the spots with 3000 grit wet paper. After that I used the Maguiar's Ultimate compound. I cannot believe how easy it was, as this is my first time using a rotary polisher. The UC took care of all of my marks and I see no scratches at all! I haven't polished yet but I'm going back to buy the polish tonight to really take it to the next level.I am a furniture maker so I have a decent understanding of the delicacy required with at sanding/polishing unit. I just started low so I didn't immediately overdo it and I can't say enough about UC!

Re: Ultimate compound!
Many detailers used Ultimate Compound successfully with rotary buffers but just to let you know it wasn't formulated for use with high speed circular polishers.
UC is for dual action or orbital polishers and of course for hand applications as well.
For use with rotary buffers I would recommend M105 Ultra Cut Compound or M86 Cut & Polish Cream which both offer great sanding mark removal.
