  • Gold Class Carnauba Plus Quik Wax Review

    Hi all,

I apologize in advance for the lack of pictures. If someone could explain how to post pictures through the iPhone app, I'll post some in comments below.

I went to a local Advanced Auto looking to see if they were stocking the 2012 products yet. Turns out they were literally stocking the shelves as I walked in. My lucky day!

    I picked up UWWA and...GCQW.

I applied GCQW on top of UW. I have a silver 2012 Ford Fiesta. Application was much like UQW...mist on, rub in, rub off. I will note it does not spread as thin as UQW.

I applied to the entire car. I was in my garage and as I was moving around my vehicle working, I started noticing the gloss deepening. The paint, silver, mind you, started looking wet!

I pulled the Silver Bullet out into the driveway just as the sun was setting. Nice pink and orange sky. I was DROOLING over my paint! The pink and orange reflections made my car look like it was melting cotton candy! Very glossy, very wet looking.

(Mods, please delete my above post? Thanks!)

-My fiance, indifferent to the look of cars, even mentioned how good it looks!

I think Meg's may be driving away a customer base that would enjoy this product, by stressing darker vehicles.

I'm excited to continue using this product.

    Cheers!

Nice! Does the paint feel very slick? Did you use it on plastic and chrome trim too? If so how did it go on and come off? How does the trim look?

Paint feels very slick, pretty much the same as after UQW. I put it on trim...certainly dosent stain it. Added some slight sheen to it, and streaked a little bit. Not bad, I can just tell it wasn't designed for that.

                Thanks for the review!

Be sure to update us on the durability of GCQW vs UQW.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Sure thing! Rain tomorrow, and I'll leave my car out during the day, see what the rain does to the slickness and glossiness.

                    Jezz,
Thanks! But really, very little time and effort on my part. Just a great product.

                      Hi Guys,

Rained all day Monday, came down pretty hard too.

Water beaded up nicely. Couldn't compare it to UQW, honestly, I'd be splitting hairs.

I'm going to wash it tomorrow with some Gold Class, get that mud off. I'll let you know how the finish feels after this rainstorm, and a wash.

Thanks for the write up, Mark! Of the three consumer QWs we now offer, Quik Wax, Gold Class Premium Quik Wax and Ultimate Quik Wax, the Gold Class will provide the greatest level of darkening on darker colors, which is why we stress that on the packaging. Obviously your experience proves a point we've been making for years - if you can make black look good, you can make anything look good!

Hi all. You may have seen these photos in the Consumer Line section, in the thread "Topping Silver with Gold Class". Figured this was an appropriate place to post them as well. Washed with Gold Class today and applied some more GCQW.

Before applying more the car still felt a little slick. It had been through a rain storm and a wash.
