Hi Mark...you might very well find that Gold Class Paste or Liquid deepens the paint and pops the paint more than Ultimate Wax. I always think a carnauba, when first applied, looks better than a synthetic.

However, Gold Class Liquid and Paste doesn't last as long as Ultimate Wax.

Therefore, you must decide, look or longevity.

I go back and forth. If I don't think I will get to wax for a month or two, I might put on a longer lasting product like Ultimate Wax.

If I think I can wax again in 3-4 weeks or even sooner, I will sometimes choose the carnauba like Gold Class.

Ultimate Quick Wax is fantastic to restore some wax look between full wax jobs. On silver, I see no reason you can't keep using it for "touch ups," after a wash or quick detailing. However, you can try Gold Class Quick Wax instead, just for fun to check it out. Many of us love trying different products. It might give even more of that carnauba look you seem to like than UQW.

I believe many are excited about Gold Class Quick Wax as it sounds like its has more carnauba than Ultimate Quick Wax. Therefore, many are thinking they will top their synthetic sealant with a little Carnauba Spray Wax to have some best of both worlds.

I tend not to top a full wax with a Quick Wax right after the full wax because at least in my head, I feel like I'm removing the longer lasting, traditional wax. I wait until I think I need to restore some look/protection.

In conclusion, if you don't mind the cost of trying Gold Class Quick Wax, give it a try. I think you would like Gold Class paste or liquid too, even on my silver car I like carnauba. Nevertheless, it doesn't last that long.

I believe it's already available over at AG .

New quick wax would be used after quick detailer to give it little extra protection.

So, wouldn't just applying GC liquid/paste wax as a topper to UW be more durable than the new quick wax, with the same results?

I prefer Ultimate liquid wax. I found that I had to apply twice since I had some darker blotches on Black paint. Maintain with GCQW.

Re: Topping silver with Gold Class

I would keep doing same as you are now and replace UQW with" Gold Class Carnauba Plus Quik Wax" as soon as it is available.

    Product attributes:
    • Delivers a deep, rich, more traditional wax finish
    • Tactile evidence of the “wax” protection that’s left behind
    • Non-whitening on trim
    • Can be applied in full sun

    Part Number: G7716
    Size:
    16 ounce
    MSRP:
    $9.49

Perfect for all colors, and exceptional on black vehicles, this new edition to the Meguiar's Gold Class family is the answer to achieving quick, dark, wet-looking shine. With a simple mist-on, wipe-off, Carnauba+Plus Quik Wax delivers the rich, warm protection that only carnauba can deliver. The "+Plus" in this formula means it won't leave white residue on plastic or trim, and unlike most waxes, Carnauba+Plus Quik Wax can be applied to a warm surface in direct sun.

    Topping silver with Gold Class

    Hi all-

Getting ready to do a complete detail on my silver 2012 Ford Fiesta. I'll be using UW as my LSP.

I've used this product before with great results. I maintained it with UQD/UQW. I noticed whenever I used UQW, the paint seemed to really "pop". In fact, I think it looked better than right after applying UW. This got me thinking- is it because of the carnauba in the UQW?

So, would it be worthwhile to pick up some GC Carnauba Plus wax to top the UW? The Internet consensus seems to be no for silver cars, but I'd like to get some more opinions.

Also, would maintaining the protection with UQD/UQW present an issue, since I'd be applying synthetic products on top of a carnauba?

    Thanks, all!
